Not enough glock/bells. It's all fake without those. ;)

In any case there's nothing unusual about John not conducting stuff himself. These days it's fairly common for other people to conduct. What impresses me is that it's very, very common to get someone to orchestrate a skeleton score, and John has usually resisted that and as far as I know is not hiring an orchestrator for TFA. Unless I haven't heard?

So the Imperial March is teased in the new footage. Does this mean the First Order share the same theme? I would hope their theme would at least be a new variation on it. In the new footage, it almost sounds like an incomplete Imperial March. The Imperial March finding its feet, if you will. The question is will it build up to the March as we know it or will it be its own thing? The latter would be nice.

I might be proven wrong but I don't think the TV spot music is Williams. It's close but something about it doesn't sound quite right.

I'm not certain that's John. The music was good and it certainly could be him but it's just not enough to go on. I'd be happy if that was John though.

I've changed my mind. I think it might actually be Williams.

it's not the imperial march. it's the first order march.

Seems doubtful. It's a stripped down variation of the Imperial March. I expect the First Order March to share similarities with the original but nothing this overt.
    I could be wrong though.

Any Imperial March here? I doubt the First Order will have it.

The trade federation has pretty much nothing to do with the empire. The First Order is a direct descendant and the music will reflect that.

It was also the theme for the clones, which aided the formation of the Empire.

It was reused for the clone sequence (for no real reason) but it was most definitely not written for the clones themselves. That's like saying that "Duel of the Fates" is a theme for Anakin's speeder-bike.

It wasn't randomly chosen, there was meaning to it.

I wonder what the chances are of them releasing a track from the score before the next trailer in "deep fall". It could be a good way to whet the fans' appetite without spoiling the movie.
I thought Force Friday would be a good time, but Anthony Brezckin (sorry) mentioned something about "not wanting to shift focus away from the toys"

It wasn't randomly chosen, but there was no thematic link beyond "army" and potentially "war with droids".

"My parents went to see the Boston Pops perform the cinematic music of John Williams the other night and although Williams himself wasn't conducting (Keith Lockhart was), he sent a note saying he's very busy working on the new score and hopes to start in on VII and IX soon. The orchestra then premiered about 30 seconds of the new score. My dad said it was fantastic."

From a different forum, person is reliable...not one to make crap up.

A shaky rumor that the OST won't be released until January. I really hope it isn't true. Thankfully the source is only a facebook poster.
    Which forum? Who?

It would be strange to delay an ideal release window - coinciding with the film, in time for Christmas gift-giving - simply to uphold spoilery track titles. I'd have to think Williams would forgo overt spoiler names if it meant an earlier release.

Perhaps the music itself is too revealing. The minor key orchestral crescendo right before the end credits might ruin some of the surprise.

On the subject of the Boston Pops concert; A JWFan poster who was there said that the "TFA Premiere" rumor was complete BS

You know what, this "January release" soundtrack rumor is growing on me. It will give me an opportunity to experience the score for the first time onscreen.
It better be a two-CD release though. I'd hate to see the film first with all of the music and then get a truncated 70 minute album.

No way will the score miss the Christmas window, none at all.
