Could you go from Carlisle to Newc, then Newc to Edin- would that make it any better for you?

Whereas I just got really annoyed at myself for bookmarking the thread and not noticing there was a page 4 now.... wondered why it was so quiet :p

Not really for the day - the journey time would be as long and the cost would be more than a saver return Carlisle to Edinburgh at £41.20. I'm now considering the weekend, coming up on Friday when the service is normal ( 1hr 30 mins) and returning on Sunday. Whilst the return train service isn't normal, its only one bus to Lockerbie and then a train to Carlisle (2hr 50 mins). To keep things cheap I'd probably stay at the SYHA Edinburgh Central, it's only ten minutes walk from Waverley Station at £19.50 per night.

Good thinking though, Coz! I guess that could've caused potential accommodation problems.

And also, Coz, apols for just reposting to answer your earlier question about whether the dates for this weekend were sorted [face_peace]

It's all good, I was being a little moody that weekend and shouldn't have posted that way [face_peace]

Those of us staying for 1 or 2 nights- how are people doing for accommodation?

Darthsmuse & LadyP- have you got somewhere yet?

Tim & Coz- I've found a B&B that has rooms for +2 people if you'd be up for sharing (making it cheaper than a Premier Inn) so I'll speak to one/both of you next time I'm on MSN...

Tim, Coz (& Martina?)- the following hotel has a family room for £25 per person per night. LadyP suggested it:

    http://www.averon.co.uk/index.htm

Shall we go for that? If you're happy with that I'll reserve a room.
