I was 4 years old when I saw Star Wars for the very first time, and it's probably one of my earliest memories that I can actually remember, so I'm sure the character of Leia influenced greatly how I view female characters. The whole concept of "damsel in distress" never was really embedded into me and I know it frustrated me that most of the action heroines in movies and shows, when I was growing up, were never as cool as male heroes (a problem that still exist today). There was of course Sigourney Weaver's Ripley in Aliens (the only Alien movie where she actually was an action hero ;) ) And before I developed a real taste for good stories, I really liked the Red Sonja movie. And since I was still a teenager, Linda Hamilton in Terminator 2 is at the top of my list. And thank god for Chris Claremont writing X-Men and Excalibur comics.

So it's very unlikely that I will every draw a completely helpless female.

And I'm glad you like the other pics as well. As I've said before I really need to finish up my padawans. I do have a few ideas involving them.

Whoa, it's been nearly a month since I've updated my thread here. Apologies. But hopefully I'll make up for it with the size of the update here ;). Where to begin . . . .

Let's start off with a couple of pics that I did not draw. But I liked the sketches so much I had to color them. Again, in order to color them (due to limitations with my paint shop) I printed these pics out and re-inked them myself using my trusty light table.

The first is an anime Sith Woman, the design I just fell in love with.

The next pic is of Jarael, who readers of the KOTOR comics will recognize.

And now to pics that I drew, colored, produced, edited, and directed :p .

Let's start with my Padawans, both of whom I have now colored.

And staying with the theme of Padawans, here is my pic of a younger Bastila Padawan.

And even though they don't use the term "Padawan" in the Luke Skywalker Jedi Order, Tahiri had yet to be knighted at the time of scene, which takes place in Enemy Lines II.

And here is a close-up shot of the same pic.

Now here are some retouches to drawing that have been posted for awhile.

I just had to repaint my Revan pic once I found out there was a character model that looked very much like the way I drew her. So I changed the hair and eye color to match that in-game model.

Of course there was no way I would pass up to opportunity to try to make my Bastila look better. I also redid her lightsaber blades. And I created a star pattern to make the space backdrop look more like Star Wars space.

And here is my "Twins of the Sith" - if Jaina had joined her brother on the dark side. Repainted, and this is a red-lightsaber version, you'll find a link to the original image there.

    Now on to new pictures.

My Dark Jedi Twi'lek is finally colored.

And to balance the dark with some light, here is a Jedi Twi'lek who I made into another Jaden Korr from Jedi Academy.

And I finally did another Mara Jade pic [face_dancing] . A very pre-married Mara ;) so she is far from settling down.

I very much want to start doing a series of pics chronicling the life of Revan. I decided that my first pic would be of her and Malak very soon after they joined the Mandalorian Wars and are now generals in the Republic. While the final image is going to be both of them together on a battlefield, I drew and colored them both separately.

    Here is General Malak.

    And the future Sith Lord herself . . . . [face_love]

    Hope you enjoy. Peace.

I've already gushed and faved my way through these latest pieces, but wanted to comment again here--GAWSH, they're awesome!! :p :D You're style of illustration and painting techniques are so impressive, and the attention you give to each piece is apparent in the quality--fabulous work! =D= All KOTOR fans (AND all the Mara Jade fans, too!) are going to be very happy with all of these! **nods**
