I think it's more a Joker origin story than Batman :)

Batman Forever, as terrible as it was, had a new Batman but didn't operate as an origin story. It made a crapload of money hence why I use the example.

I'm not sure that's the best example, but good point. Although it's been a while since I've seen that one, due to it being my least favorite Batman movie ever (yes I'd rather even watch Batman & Robin more often than not, though I very rarely bother with either), but don't they go back over and even maybe somewhat expand on his origin in it?

Yeah they add one extra scene from the Burton origin sequence.

Nothing could be as bad as the "Birds of Prey" TV show about batman's daughter.

Well I said movie, but that does look really really bad. It's telling that I never even heard of it before.

Pretty much the same in regards to forever, although B & R is terrible, I found forever to be so much more disappointing, it had some really good themes (the whole Idea about dream sequence and Wayne confronting his demons was apparently Burton's idea) but it just got muddle up because it didnt know what it wanted to be.

I think what particularly hurt Amazing Spider-Man is that Spider-Man has an origin that is both famous even among the non-comics-reading population and doesn't have a lot of room for differing interpretations.
