It's not how many you killed, but how many you saved. I like that concept.

    Entry 5

I landed on Bastion, got off the transport and come face-to-face with Mirri Fel-Reir, Jaina’s and Jagged’s eldest daughter. She is absolutely beautiful. At age 26, she looks exactly like a combination between her two grandmothers.

“I heard what you told the High Council,” she said with a chuckle.

“Yeah, they deserved it,” I grumbled as I shrugged my bag over my shoulder. “How’d you know I was coming here, on this transport?”

“Your father traced your cred-card. He isn’t happy with you.”

I rolled my eyes. “What else is new?”

“He’s sending your grandfather to come get you. I’m to escort you to the palace to wait for your guilt trip.”

I groaned as she started to lead me to her speeder. “The fact that he sent my grandpa is guilt enough.”

“So your not going to try to run?”

“Of course not. I’m not going to make my grandfather search for me.”

We got to her speeder, a sporty red thing. “So what was your goal in coming here, other than escaping the masters?”

I shrugged as I got into the speeder. “I sort of wanted to meet with Admiral Sirif, he did sort-of offer me a job, as a civilian, which NEVER happens. I did work tireless for 3 years - at the Masters’ suggestion - to get a degree. I would like to use it, but I guess kriff me.”

“Really? You’re complaining to me about politics?” Mirri groaned. “Or did you forget I had to marry a son of an admiral, just encase something happens to my older brother.”

“Yeah, how is married life treating you?”

She shrugged. “Vian isn’t a bad guy, we actually work well together, but married life just isn’t for me. I don’t know why I gave into the pressure.”

We eventually reached the palace and she led me to a guest suit. “Your grandfather should be here in a few hours. I’m going to see if I can arrange a meeting with Admiral Sirif to kill some of that time for you.”

    I thanked her.

Within a few minutes there was a knock at the door. I stood and said, “Come in.”

In full uniform, Admiral Sirif, a tall, lanky, aging man, came in. “Ms. Skywalker,” he said, entering and taking a seat on one of the couches. I did the same. “It is a pleasure to meet you. I’ve had my eye on you since you completed your first year at North Coruscant University. I was in the building and when I was told you were here, I had to meet you.”

“It is a pleasure to meet you as well. I have given much thought to your offer.”

“You have? I’m glad. But have you given any thought to your other offers?”

I looked at him, confused. I hadn’t received any offers other than his.

“Your Jedi Apprenticeship. Word travels fast when a Skywalker sasses the Council and refuses to become a Jedi. My offer to join the Imperial Navy still stands, but you have been given an amazing opportunity that few get. Sure you got it because of your last name, but that doesn’t mean you don’t deserve it.”

    “May I speak freely, sir?”

    “Be my guest.”

“I did not refuse because of my family. The words Jedi and Skywalker are synonymous. I refused because I disagreed with their politics. Given my past, specifically the crash of the Brauronia and the dark personal times I went through after it, they were wary about granting me a position in the Jedi. I think they are wary to teach me because they think I’ll go to the dark side and become the next Vader. Yet they are worried that if they don’t train me, I’ll seek training elsewhere and be vulnerable to the ways of the dark side. I think they just decided to go with the lesser of two evils. But I’m not an evil to be dealt with.”

“I say you prove them wrong, and then change their politics. You can’t do either in my service,” he said, getting up.

I thought about it for a moment. “Thank you for the advice, and the offer.”

“And as I said before, the offer still stands. I want you in my service, but not if it takes you away from a greater purpose.”

There then was another knock at the door and my grandpa entered. That had taken a lot quicker than I had anticipated. Granted, I hadn’t taken a direct transport to Bastion. “Kamon Sirif? How long has it been?”

“Master Skywalker! It’s been way too long.” They shook hands.

“You aren’t convincing my only granddaughter to do something stupid, are you?”

The admiral chucked. “That’s a matter of opinion. I think you may be quite pleased with my skills of persuasion.”

My grandpa raised an eyebrow. “Really?”

“Really. Now, as much as I’d like to see this discussion between hard-headed people go, I have duties I must return to.” He gave a nod to my grandpa, then a wink to me, before leaving.

My grandpa then looked at me.

“I can’t believe Dad sent you to guilt me into coming home,” I groaned.

“Your dad didn’t send me. I’m not here to guilt you into doing anything,” he said, very convincingly. He took a seat next to me. “I’m here to offer you a Jedi Apprenticeship, from me, not from the council.”

“Are you allowed to do that?”

My grandpa shrugged. “No one said I couldn’t. I don’t agree with how the Jedi Council treated you, so after you left, I more or less said, screw you guys, Lukia is becoming a Jedi because I said she is. That is, if you want to. No one actually asked you if you wanted to become a Jedi.”

    “I think I do,” I said with a smile.

    Entry 6

Today was the first day of my apprenticeship. Last night my grandpa and I contacted my dad, then took off from Bastion. My grandpa told me not to ask where we were going and it is driving me insane.

I woke up and looked around the guest cabin aboard the Jade Shadow. I’ve stayed in this cabin more than anyone else in the past 2 decades, so I guess now that I’m my grandpa’s apprentice, it’s technically now my cabin.

I walked out in my pyjamas to see my grandpa at the table drinking his caff. I opened a ration bar and sat down across from him. “So, are you going to tell me where we are going?”

    “To start you training.”

“Must you be so cryptic?” I asked him, deadpan.

“Of course I have to be cryptic. It’s one of the perks of being ninety-five.”

    “You’re impossible, you know.”

He smiled. “Thanks for the compliment.”

I rolled my eyes. For some reason, he loves it when I’m mean to him.

He chuckled. “Go get dressed. We are going to do some simple levitation practices and meditation today.”

I can not express how much I hate the mental aspects of the Force, yet we spent all day on it. I understand I have to master reaching out and “becoming one with the Force and entire universe”, but my mind has troubles concentrating when my body is doing nothing. Apparently it’s going to take a week to get to our destination and until then we will be focusing on the metaphysical aspects of the Force. ARG!

I am going to KILL my grandfather. Seriously. I love my Pa, but he is in for a world of teenage angst.

After forcing me though was was pretty much a week of meditation, we landed on Dagobah. Yes, that Dagobah: sweaty armpit of the galaxy. Thankfully we are staying in the ship and not in Yoda’s hut (which is infested with creepy crawly things). But everything smells, and I mean everything.

My grandpa has taken to sitting on sitting on a crate, or a rock, or a stump, while I train, levitating crates and rocks and stuff. But I got to go for a run, using my lightsaber and the Force to clear my way, which was fun.

Oh yes, and R2-D2 (who follows my grandpa EVERYWHERE) is just as miserable as I am. That droid complains so much. Between the two of us, we are hoping to annoy my grandpa so much that he’ll let me train somewhere else.

AN: Thanks for reading guys! I'm kinda behind in this diary (this is actually the last entry I have written - eeeekk!) but hopefully I can get my butt in gear.

    Entry 8

I haven’t updated this diary in three months (yes, R2 and I have survived that long on Dagobah) because my grandpa’s training zapped pretty much all my energy (he really is a slave-driver). But I feel as though I must record this.

This morning I went out for my morning run through the jungle and I had noticed a tree had fallen, creating a new path for me, so I jumped onto it and was on my way again. During my runs, I reach out and become one with my surroundings. I find this easer than doing so sitting in one place. I can feel every being around me, from the hawkbat to the slugsnail.

Anyways, as I got further and further down this path, I felt everything become… dark. It wasn’t a bad darkness, it was simply void of good. Yet it felt familiar like an old friend welcoming me back, almost maternal in its comfort. I proceeded until I came to a cave.

    “Stop.”

I turned to see my grandfather, sitting in a patch of grass with his legs crossed, eyes closed. He looked as though he had been there for awhile.

    “How…?”

“I had a vision that you would be led here today.”

    I was still confused.

He nodded towards the cave. “It’s called the Cave of Evil.”

“That doesn’t sound ominous at all.”

“Are you going to take this seriously? If not, we are done,” he rebuked me for what felt like the first time in my life.

    “Sorry, Grandpa,” I mumbled.

“The cave is corrupted by the Dark Side. It is pure evil. You must go in there and face it to understand the lure and realities of the Dark Side.”

I nodded. “What is in there?”

“Only what you take with you.”

I made sure my lightsaber was clipped to my hip.

“You will not need your weapon.”

I took it with me anyways. I could feel him roll his eyes.

I entered the cave and came face to face with a nightsister in full ceremonial dress, including head-dress, make-up and staff. She brought her staff up to strike and, out of instinct, I activated my lightsaber and cut her staff in half. There was a spark and that sound. The crack, sizzle of an electrocution and the smell of burning flesh. The same sound and smell of that moment on the Brauronia. The nightsister fell and condensation started to drip onto her face, destroying the make-up. I whipped her face with the bottom of my tank top.

    It was me.

After staring for some time, I realized my grandpa was still outside. I went out to him as the figure faded.

“Your task today is to meditate on what you saw.”

He then left me standing there.

After much thinking, I guess it means darkness is within me and my past. I will always have to accept this. I will always be in constant struggle with who I am and who the Dark Side wants me to be. The dark side of me exists and is very real. I am that night-sister, and she is me. But she is within me and must never get out.

LOL, ahh Dagobah. Lovely, serene, mud-choked, crawling with bugs, probably malaria-infested… Luke sure knows how to pick his traditions. They should try Tatooine next. :p

    Entry 8

What an interesting description! Very eerie, and almost contrasting with what Luke says about the cave. I’ve often wondered about the use of that place as a training tool. If it’s truly and fully evil, then wouldn’t it be more successfully deceptive? It’s almost more of a mirror – which seems to be the lesson that Lukia takes away from it. Hmm.
