Marvin, Utopia Planitia is a plain, more so a giant plain.. with a few select valleys. Hence, planitia.

Jolly good, now can anybody tell me how long the Voyager Probe is going to take to reach the nearest star? <evil grin> Heh heh.

Voyager 1 and 2 are not on course for Proxima Centuri (the closest star). ;)

However, Voyager 1 will take about 40000 years to pass its first star... I think.

As a side note about the Voyager 1 & 2, they are headed in opposite directions actually. Why not?

Why aren't they on course for Proxima Centauri? Well, as far as I know, the Voyagers were to take pictures of the outer planets, but then also pass through the edge of the solar system, where the solar winds are less and there are um, asteroids and things, can't remember what it's actually called. But because they slow down so much, it takes thousands of years to get through that and it probably wouldn't be worth it. Also, because (I think) they used the outer planets' gravity to send them that far out, maybe they couldn't make them go in that specific direction?

I think your thinking of the Kyber belt Imzadi, (hope I spelt that right) As far as I know Voyager 1 passed it or is going to pass through it around about now. It took this long to get there. Quite a trip huh.

Farsi is spoken in Africa. Some where in Africa. There are lots of languages spoken in Africa. Even Ewoks spoke an African language.

    Okay. I'm bluffing. No idea.

And both Voyagers, while having an escape velocity, will continue to slow down until they are attracted by another source of gravity.

Hmm, the stuff I read says that they're both still in the solar system, here: NASA

They've taken images of the next system I think, but they're not actually there.

Haven't heard of the Kyber belt, but it sounds like the same thing. It's referred to as the Heliosphere on the site above.

<puts Marvin out of his misery>

Farsi is spoken in Iran, it is also spoken in Afghanistan. In Afghanistan it is known as Dari. Farsi is also know as Persian and a variety of this language is called Tajik and is spoken in the Tajikistan and is written in the Cyrillic alphabet.
