July Discussion Thread

It's time to talk about the July Meet. There has been talk of a joint meet with the New Hampshire Chapter at Caobie Lake Park. Canobie is located about 35 minutes north of Boston in Tax Free Salem N.H. I'm sure we can work out rides for people with transportation issues. At this point Canobie is not set in stone for the meet so feel free to discuss your thoughts on the idea.

 

Canobie is always fun. Excluding the large amounts of money for their amazingly good fried dough.

If we wanted to make this a late meeting, the rate drops to $15 after 5 pm. I don't think that would work out that great, but I'm just throwing something into the air.

 

I wish I could make it but I will be out of town.

 

I'm not so sure about this one.
I might take the month of July off cuz money is getting tight again.

 

I don't know about this one. I hope I can go but I will probably have to work...like always...

 

I am going to this meet.
I have not been there in a few years since then they got some new rides. And I only work 10 minutes away how sad.
I have been addicted to the Superman coaster at Six Flags but that is a long journey to Agawam.

 

Sometimes you can find some money saving coupons to the different parks.
Have to see what I can find.

 

I'm back from my hybernation. Actually I was just busy with a lot of stuff, school, helping out with the family, work and a bunch of junk. Anyways, T3 comes out tomorrow and thats cause for July discussion.

 

At this point I think we will need to put off Canobie. There just doesn't seem to be enough interest. We'll need to come up with some alternatives. Any thoughts?

 

How about a picnic in the Boston Common.
We can play Frisbee and Wiffle ball.
And if it gets hot enough, which it will, we can run through the water fountains.

And if everyone wants also maybe take in a movie across the street.

 

Thats sounds good. There would be plenty of stuff to do.
The movie theater being right there is cool too.

 

Canobie or no Canobie, I'm probably not going to make this one. This year I can only work weekends at the camp, and they really need me whenever I can be there. August will be different, though, as long as we can figure out something good.

 

Picnic/movie/wiffle ball sounds like a great idea to me. Many people have suggested this throughout our history but we have never really done that.

Okay. So the meet will be a picnic at the common. We can meet across the street from the Lowes Theater at noon. I'll bring a wiffle ball and bat as well as a Nerf Football and Frisbee.

For food is everyone going to bring something to share? And if so who wants to bring what?
Or are we bringing our own food? ?

I can bring a cooler with me if we need it.

Wow... I haven't posted in a while...

And I'm going to miss frisbee? Bah. I feel like I missed it once before, even though I know I didn't. Foo. Hope you're all having a good sumer and have a fun time at the meet. See you again in September.

 

I'll have to see if I'm working on saturday. The meet sounds fun though.

I plan on grabbing something in the area to eat in the park. I'm taking the T in and don't feel like dragging a cooler in with me. I will have Frisbee and wiffle ball stuff with me.

My boss Tom, being the infinately forgetful person that he is, scheduled me to work from 3:00-9:00 on saturday. I'm currently talking with my co-workers to see if someone will switch shifts with me. One person has been suggested and another has offered to switch so I think I'll be able to go.
