Wash, DC July Meeting : 7/19, details within... maybe

Wow, it's July already! Time to find a good meeting date.

I believe we're looking at the weekend of the 19th or the 26th. Anyone have a preference?

 

26th works better for me.

 

The 19th is free for me and Ken since we'd blocked it for Busch Gardens.

 

Oh yeah, BG... whoops. Forgot about that. I guess we better figure out if we're going that day or postponing.

Anyone have ideas for where to have the July meeting?

 

I will be on vacation for both of those weekends, so I will see you maybe in the fall?

I will shoot for August, Really!! Just think of Liz, I have an Anakin action figure for her. She has to keep waiting to get it.

I have to work on the 19th, but I'm off on the 26th, so that day works better for me.
As for a suggestion of where...
I nominate Dave & Buster's at White Flint Mall in Rockville!
It's conveniently located just off the Beltway, and is within easy walking distance from the White Flint Metro Station, so everyone should be able to get there easily enough.
They also have at least 2 different Star Wars arcade games there!
The one and only problem with D&B is that it gets HELLA CROWDED on Saturday nights, so a daytime excursion, say, early afternoon, would be the better way to go.
And there's my 2 cents, FWIW.

 

That would be fun, but the only problem is you have to be 21 or with a parent or guardian to get in.

 

Well, IF there's any members under the age of 21 (and notice I say IF. I don't recall anyone that young, from what I know of the GS' members and their ages. ), they can just go in with an "adult guardian" who's also a member of the group!

 

Well we do have one member, but she has a quirky older sister who can technically pass as an adult and also happens to be our CR.

I would love to go to D&B, but I'm not sure if it's a suitable meeting place according to FF rules and what not. I will have to check on that.

 

Well what's close by, I've never been up to the White Flint area? We can have the meeting somewhere nearby, then hold the unofficial after-meeting at D&B.

What weekend are we planning on meeting?

 

Right now it seems to be leaning toward the 26th. And it might be possible to meet elsewhere and then troop to D&B afterwards. (D&B might be too loud for a meeting anyway. )

 

I think Jeff has the best idea with the meeting before hand then moving over to D&B.

Sounds good to me, now all you need to do is change the title of th thread to the meeting date and time. Say 1pm, but then hold the meeting at 1:30, when everyone shows up
