Clone Wars, how bout those clone wars, coming your way!............ Shatterpoint: a Mace Windu novel, the Medstar Duology, Jedi Trial, and Clone Wars: The Novel, are our picks this time. Shatterpoint has been on our list for a long time. Written by the gifted Matthew Stover, it is similiar to Joeself Conrad's Heart of Darkness in tone and, well, in Plot. I cannot separate the two, so I just put them both here. The two Medstar books: MedStar: Battle Surgons, and MedStar: Jedi Healer; both by by Michael Reaves and Steve Perry. Think MASH in space. Don't grown at this one! Clone Wars by Karen Travis, the novel of the animated film. It is really good, honestly, and paints a wider picture then what we saw in the films. MTFBWY Jammies
Read them all, all good choices. Going with the Karen Travis Clone Wars. She really adds a lot of depth to what we saw on the screen (remember seeing it in the theater?) and adds a level of maturity and realism to the story.
Well, I don't vote unless there is a tie. I will leave this up for a bit-- then if I have to, I will pick a book. Uggg. I love all three. I guess a better question is which one will lead to a better discussion?
Well my thought is the less to remember (as in too many adventures) the more in-depth you can discuss the single story. just my two credits worth
4 posters, but 6 votes (remember, I only vote if we are stuck at a tie). And we are stuck at a Tie. So, with 3 posts for Clone Wars, and 1 for Shatterpoint: you other Shatterpoint lovers need to make your voices heard-- or else I'm voting Clone Wars. Tie Fighters!
and i swop in to vote for a book I won't read, because i never get the time or chance to go to the book club meetings, and even I did, i still don't read the books.
I cast in for Shatterpoint. It was an interesting read, and I haven't got to the MedStar books yet. Aaannnnd I refuse to read anything The Clone Wars associated.
Shatterpoint is, surprisingly, really good and actually made me begin to like and understand Mace Windu as a character.
