i remember back in the summer of '54, me and my old friend earl got the brilliant idea we'd travel the country and see if we couldn't come up with some money-making schemes. well old earl was never too smart, he was the sort who'd wear his own pants as a hat if you didn't remind him they were for covering his rear. so i snuck half a bottle of ether and some other concoction into his whisky and he stayed more or less unconscious for most of the trip, cept for when i propped him up in the driver's seat and tied his feet to the gas and brake when i needed some rest from michigan to missouri. so one night me and earl are at this gypsy hostel in the middle of idaho, and earl get's this idea. and he was sort of awake at this point so i got the basic notion through his slurring and mumbling. and earl says, "hey, creep," (friends call me creep), "hey, creep," he says. "creep, see if that dish might want to buy a custom designed accordian if we sweeten up the deal with a few of them trained tap dancing possums we bought down in mississippi." so like i said, earl wasn't too bright, but he was a good guy, so i thought it wouldn't hurt none to ask the dish who worked at the front desk if she'd want to buy a custom designed accordian if we threw in a few tap dancing possums. she didn't think it was such a good idea but she took a liking to old earl, so after a long night of duck duck goose we decided we liked her too much not to bring her along. her name, by the way, was miranda, and she smelled of lobster and fish eggs, but she was a nice girl. i remember once, back in '56 as i recall...
