...A place to come and blow off some steam and have a chin-wag.

The bar is open for drinks, chaps.
    What is your pleasure?

As I am currently drinking alone I need something to pass the time....hmm...

    Ah yes...

I'd like to give one of the ladies a screwdriver. Won't say which, though.

Just got back from grocery shopping (joy).

Also of note, I just found out my grades for last semester. I'm still not sure how I feel about them. My objective, given my fairly high GPA in the course to date, was to put in enough effort to achieve a "c" in both classes.

Indeed. Now I think I've been trying too hard to date. I got As in both classes with minimal effort. I feel like I wasted a year and a half working hard...

Well done, my friend, that's great!
And if it took minimal effort, then the hard work paid off.

    No waste there.

He's doing great! Had his first swim meet yesterday! Three 3rd place finishes, which isn't bad considering that he's only been swimming for about 3 weeks now. He also managed to shave off 12 seconds from his back stroke since time trials. I'm very proud! :D

    That's cool, man.
I often wonder what that feeling of pride for a child must be like.

I have a God son and a nephew whom I love very much, but I can double-bet that it's nothing like the same feeling I have for them.

Well, you're obviously a good looking dude. You seem awfully charming and you've got a good sense of humor. Intelligent, etc. But you're also single.

I can only assume that's by choice. Mind if I ask you why?

    Not at all.

I have been in two very long relationships with my ex-girlfriends, the first was eight years, the second was nine years and ended in March last year. It has taken a long time to get over the second, and in truth I am still getting over it. We worked together as a couple on so many levels, but also not on a whole bunch of others. In the end, the stuff that didn't work, 'won' out.

Since then I have done a whole lot of soul searching, because what I came to realise was that, in both cases, when the relationship needed to grow to the next level after buying a home together (marriage, kids), I unconsciously fought the change. And in the latter partnership, I was a good part responsible for taking away a lot of my girlfriend's identity within the relationship.

So I have needed to seriously look at myself; what I desire from life, and who I want to be as a person.

I read two books (well one book and a series of books) at the tail end of last year and the beginning of this year, that changed my life. The Road Less Travelled and the Conversations with God books.

Having read those books, I would like to make sure that I am as happy with myself as I can be, in light of all the above, before I embark on another relationship. And whilst that has taken time and has been very hard, because I really love being part of a couple, I believe that it is time worth taking.

    -JR :)

PS - thanks for the compliments, my friend.

Thanks for sharing that with me, JR. And that makes a lot of sense. I've had some interesting times in the relationship world myself. So interesting, in fact, that I never share them publicly. But I'm always willing to chat via PM/IM.

    **mixes Martini**

    There you go Agent.

And Bri, this is my bar, don't you think there might be a reason I chose not to call it simply Junior's Bar, or Junior's Pub...?

Choice of name was VERY important.

For your free drink, and in homage to your colours, I am giving you a rosé prosecco and a black sambuca on the house!
