I wonder if Spielberg has ever been on the Raptor ride at Cedar Park.

I'm only going to see this if Richard Attenborough is in it.

My kids and I watched all three JP movies over the course of a week earlier this summer. Definitely looking forward to seeing Jurassic World.

I'm not as young as I used to be and don't pay attention to tv too much anymore...

So it seems at long last more bones of the infamous Spinosaurus aegyptiacus have been found. And it's very different to how JP3 depicted it. It seems it walked on all fours and was almost totally aquatic

It is still the largest predatory Dinosaur ever found, but not good on land and certainly not the killing machine JP3 had running around.

That Spinosaurus was probably the only one that could have been aquatic considering that the first skeleton was quite different

I don't think a complete skeleton was ever found, and the original fossils were destroyed during one of the world wars

yeah the earlier reconstruction was totally speculative. i'm pretty sure all they had prior to this new discovery was like teeth and bits of the skull and spine.

Yeah they had very little to go on previously. Just goes to show how much what you come to accept in science can suddenly change with a new discovery.

Absolutely. It's why science is excellent. On dinos, I'm hoping science discovers they were all day glow pink.

Yes. I believe this is the only known photo of the full holotype:

    (A relevant paper.)

The original descriptive paper also has some photos and illustrations of individual elements, I believe. But, yeah, very patchy. And Ghost is correct: it was destroyed by Allied bombing in WWII.

I knew that poor T-Rex in JP3 shouldn't have been killed so easily.

T-Rex would have pwned Spino whether it was standing on two legs on going Croc style. Conical teeth are for snaring prey like fish & don't give sufficient bite force to do much damage to tougher hides like Dinosaurs had.
It's possible that Spinosaurus could alternate standing between two legs & four like Iguanodon, but would have walked as a quadruped due to the sail fin overbalancing it.

I am convinced that the T-Rex from JP3 was the baby Rex from the Lost World

I hope this uses the opportunity to give its cast members some clever wit. Nick Robinson and Judy Greer are both funny people.
