All I desire for visuals is the same TLC given to the T-rex scene in the 1st JP. Even the other dino effects in the first film were not super. But that initial scene where the T-rex gets out is perfection.

I hope given the short timeframe that has been given to make the movie that they don't rush post-production and just make lots of terrible fake-looking CGI Dinosaurs.

Wasn't JP-level good, even some of the visuals in the PT were poor and they were made many years after the OT and cost a lot more money.

I assume ILM will do the effects for the movie instead of Weta.

I love it when they come out with a release date before they have a script, a director or any actors. Always a good sign.

Yeah... but let's try to be optimistic! :D

Maybe we can update the thread title? To let people know a release date has been announced and the movie is confirmed?

Disney have done the same with Episode VII, that doesn't mean it will suck. But they at least have given themselves around 3 years to get it done.

The whole dinosaurs with guns thing was debunked by Frank Marshall.

Maybe in this one dinosaurs will have evolved enough to be able to speak.

Okay, I only wanted to plug the show, which time has unfortunately forgotten all about.

    Oh, here's another idea:
Dennis Nedry somehow survived the attack in the first film and somehow his DNA got crossed with that of the dino, causing him to mutate in DINO NEDRY, out to take his revenge on John Hammond. And there's only ONE MAN to stop him...
JEFF GOLDBLUM is Ian Malcom as Brundlefly

What is wrong with the people in this thread. Jurassic Park III was a completely, irredeemably terrible movie. Much like the recent Total Recall remake, it tried to be a two and half hour long continuous chase/action scene. Although, since the antagonists here were supposedly* not intelligent, this prospect was even stupider, and rested on what even the movie acknowledged was a stupid contrivance about a dinosaur being thrown into a blind range by a cellphone ringer. New characters were hoaky and unlikable, and old ones returned just to have the good memories of their previous performances dragged through the mud.

*Unfortunately for us, someone decided that maybe the dinosaurs should be intelligent after all. Thus, we get this outrageously stupid Rosetta Stone/Nixon Goes to China moment where a guy blowing tentatively into a plaster mold of raptor vocal cords clears up all their misunderstandings and brokers a permanent peace treaty with them. On his first try. [face_plain] Unless the next movie is a dramatic step up in quality from this one, there just shouldn't be a JP franchise any longer.

Nope. They made "The Lost World: Jurassic Park". Use Disney-Marvel's formula. (Iron Man, Iron Man 2, The Avengers, Iron Man 3, etc.)

Jurassic Park 2 is still an open space, especially with the time between JP and TLWJP.
For instance, Lewis Dodgson, Howard King, and George Baselton hire a group of mercs and go to Isla Nublar a few days after the first movie, to try to find Nedry, thinking he screwed them over by taking the money and disappearing.

One of the things I actually like about it is its brisk pacing. It's only about ninety minutes, not a hundred and fifty.

Leaked concept art of the villain!

You see, when the paleontologist-jock-paraglider-guy (who should have died) stole the Reptar eggs in JP3, giving them back at the end was always part of the plan! You see, he really worked for Dennis Nedry's boss from the first movie, and had succeeded in mutating the Reptar eggs so they would hatch a hyper-intelligent race so Tyrant Rex and the Reptillians can rule the Earth forevermore! [face_devil]

The book goes more in-depth iirc-Nedry designed the system to be ridden with bugs. It's not just badly engineered. Plus Muldoon (again, in the novel) was very much restricted in what he could/could not do-he had a grand total of two lethal weapons, and it really was just him for security purposes beyond some guards.
