Interesting. This could either Christopher Nolan-ize him, or M. Night Shyamalanalaman-ize him.

Amusing timing- news articles were just speculating this morning or yesterday that Spielberg might have been returning. Guess they didn't want to get people's hopes up knowing JP4 already has an uphill battle after JP3.

Which they might win. The Rise of the Planet of the Apes guys are writing it, and Colin Trevorrow directing, this might actually be good. I'm getting my hopes up. I'm gonna hope it's better than The Lost World.

The Lost World was fun though, and at least it was loosely....very loosely...based on Crichton's books. JP3 was just awful. It incorporated the aviary from the first book, which was nice, but it just seemed so contrived.

I have high hopes too, and I hope Spielberg, as the Executive producer, is able to convince John Williams to score it. I really thought that was one of JP3's larger faults, not having the great score.

I deluded myself into thinking as a child that 3>2, but I now realize the truth.

    1>2>3

    I still like JP3 though.

If its as good as TLW and not as bad as JP3, I'll be satisfied.

So that was the beloved franchise Collin spoke of back when he was rumored to direct Ep VII :D I haven't seen Safety not Guaranteed, but considering the positive reviews of the movie, I can say I am optimistic about this. June 2014 can't come any sooner!

Good director and good script is positive, having a release date just over a year away with no cast and no apparent filming underway doesn't bode too well for it. I say delay it and get it done the way it deserves to be done. Would be a shame if the effort put into pre-production gets wasted by rushing the movie.

I just hope they have the good sense to kill all the dinosaurs in this one. Either by military or by prions. I don't care. JPIV needs to be the last one.

I'd rather see the dinosaurs kill off the entire human race with the bird flu, and then they reclaim the Earth to rule it once more.

Fourth parts of dead franchises are always awesome. I hope it's as good as Terminator Salvation and Alien Resurrection!

Safety Not Guaranteed wasn't very good-- well, it was okay, but it was standard quirky indie fair. I only watched it for Aubrey Plaza. Is that all this guy has?

Salvation at least had the "script ****ed up by the Writer's Strike" excuse.

According to the local news, some scenes are possibly going to be shot at the Raleigh Studios/Celtic Media Center here in Baton.

In which case....I might have to see if there is a casting call for extras. I love JP so much, that even if the fourth one is a turd, at least it will be fun to possibly have my spine chewed on by a velociraptor.

And Resurrection had the "obvious satire" excuse.
