Speculation.
The particle doesnt actually KNOW its supposed to move. Its just acts & reacts as depending upon the forces surrounding it.
Kinda credits the whole Force theory. We ARE surrounded my a magnetic field everyday. Just havent worked out how to control or manipulate it.

If the particle is introduced into a vaccum, it will not react until it is acted upon by another force.

Hence....if there are particles already in the vaccum that are being acted upon by a magnetic force, the new particle will join the motion and the movement of the other particles once the force and the other particles act upon it.

Ok let me explain myself a little more clearly.

What happens when the object creating the field changes? does the field change over an infinite distance at an infinite speed.

There are two theories to answer it.
1. There is a kind of ether(you might want to look it up) which is kind of like the fabric that the universe is painted on, (it was originally used to explain why light needs no medium to travel through)
2. there are little fairies(sp?) that run between the object and the thing that creates the field

Strangely enough the second is more widely recongnised.

If an object creating the conditions within a set field change, then all actions within the limitations of the field will regulate all actions thereof.

As for Delta... I prefer to look at rather than listen to.
