Lego Star Wars II (video game) has enspiered me to do some 3D Lego. I'm modeling some characters from various things (mainly superheroes). I've so done Superman, Batman and Luke Skywalker. If things go well I'm going to make a trailer for a fake game similar to Lego Star Wars but with other characters i.e Superman, Batman etc.

Here's my pretty much completed Superman:

    Here's Batman:

    And Luke:

And just today I did a little animation with Luke. It's a little rough but I like how it turned out for litle more than 20 minutes work:

If you need an alternate link tothe video, let me know.

    What do you think?

Nice! I especially liked the animation with the lightsaber, great job! I have been making lego stop-motion movies in the past, and now have 3ds Max. If you wouldn't mind, I would really like to have a few characters that you have already made! :)

If so, the formats that I'm familiar with is ".3ds" and ".Max" files.

They're OK, you're pretty close with the actual body, but the arms and hands need work along with the heads. And you do know that the curved part of the hand is the bottom right?

I agree. The head needs to be smaller in height, and Superman's face needs work. As for the arms, there needs to be more of an angle at the elbow, but this wont matter when it's rigged. I'll work on that next.

Yeah I was wondering about that. Every picture I took a look at was different. Thanks!

I don't mind giving them to you, and I can provide them in .3ds, but let me finish with them myslef first. If I don't get round to doing the whole animation, I'll let you have them sooner. In the mean time, I'm sure you could find some free lego figure models through a couple of searches.

You know, the main thing that's annoyed me with lego minifigures is that their hands can't reach past their heads. Makes it difficult for animation although they did pretty good in the Lego Star Wars game.

Ok, I can wait. A finished model will be better than one that isnt. :)
I'll keep an eye out on this post for any further progres. :D

Below are a few good ".3ds" models that are free at turbosquid.
