12000 miles or 12 months for a new clutch...it gives out 6 months after the warrenty expires....

Uh oh... my transmission is going bad on my 99 Ford Expedition and I am told it it going to cost me $2,000 or so at least. My car has 147,000 miles on it so I guess it is time.

Tranmission going out on a '99 Expedition? No, impossible. I have an '88 Ranger, with the odometer having turned over once, and the transmission's just fine. Yeah, it had to be serviced when I first got it, but not replaced or repaired. I'd expect a Dodge transmission to go out after 147,000 miles...not a Ford.
