Just got a note today from them. Anybody that can come would be great. It was a lot of fun last time.

    Hi Chris
I just wanted to invite you and anyone else that would like to participate in this years Juvenile Diabetes Walk for a Cure. You were such a hit last year. The kids are really hoping to see a return performance this year! The walk is September 29th at Riverfront Park 10am.
My son Bailey has a website this year. www.baileysbrigade.com check it out if you have some time. It really helps explain what these kids go through every day.

We hope to see you there :)

    Sincerley,
    Shea Wills

Thank you for the info. I think this is a good idea, and exactly the kind of thing that our group could start doing in costume regularly. Maybe we can talk about it on saturday at the picnic (wherever it may be).

Definitely a good cause and good idea and I hope that we can get members there to it.

That's one of the activities I would love to start participating in. Does the group ever go to children's care wards or cancer centers to spread some Star Wars cheer?[face_peace]

Not since I have been a member, but I think we really need to start making it a priority and discuss what/who the Spokantina can benefit.

    IMHO

Hey Guys, I am planning on heading over to Spokane for this worthy event... looking forward to meeting some of you all there...

btw we wanted to do the Children's Hospital over here in the Seattle area but they wouldn't allow groups in with masks/helmets on in case it scares the children... Kind of spoils the effect having Vader without the bucket... So we do charity work for them instead...

Ok so I was just going to sign up to do this thing. But then I got to thinking perhaps I should sign us up as under the spokantina Team. Our name could be Spokantina walk like a tuskin for the cure. lol how bout just Spokantina Star wars fans for the cause or just spokantina. I really want to sign up today. SO if any of you out there are planning on doing this and would like to do it under a group name associated with the star wars fan club please let me know. Other wise I will just make up a name for our team my self and you could be stuck with something like ballerina star wars dancers for the cause.

I'll be there for you guys, but unfortunately, I won't be able to walk. The whole lays right in between the two jobs I do saturday.
in fact, after I get done, I'll have to go into the studio wearing half my armor. :)
Glad it's radio and not TV.

Just wanted to give everybody a little more info:

    Chris,
The actual walk starts at 10am and registration begins at 9am. Everyone will be so excited to know that you will be attending again this year. We have well over 900 people registered for the walk to date. We have a free bbq lunch after the walk so please stick around. Expect a great turnout. Let me know if you have any more questions.

Well the walk is over and it was a great success. There were tons of people and I did manage to get a photo of the starting line.

The Spokantina Team raised $160 for the JDRF walk for a cure, and was just me and my wife. It was a lot fun, several people asked for a picture with me and when we got to the finish there were about twenty cheerleaders cheering everyone that finished, but we got a special "Yay Jedi!"

I also got to meet TK9993 (TD-9993) aka Chris after the walk. It was great to meet and talk with you!

Nora, Myself, and Sammy dressed up for the walk, Melina even wore her Yoda t-shirt (underneath her jacket, of course).

I did get a few photos uploaded to thespokantina.com, but they aren't displayed on the gallery page, but I do have links here...

It was a great time and hopefully we can do more charity fund raising or something like it more often.

Hey, it was great to meet you guys. And thanks for posting pics. Hope you don't mind if I "steal" a couple. I only tool one photo but found a couple more.
I'll let you guys know how much was raised all together and post any other pics if I get them.
