Yup.

 

I'm really enjoying this series way more than I thought. I'm finding that Kanan became such an interesting character to me so fast after the first issue, and even more so Depa Billaba. I never knew much about her.
One issue I have with this series, and it's quite big, is in the portrayal of Depa Billaba. Once again, a non-white character has been made white. In this industry, like all others, where equal representation is so rare and everything is pretty damn white, this hurts. Not like they even gave her much screen-time either...

I get where they're coming from:

That really does not look like the actress; they're severely aged down and whitened in this.

 

Yeah, to be fair there's times where she looks legit, but other times she looks like somebody else cosplaying Depa. The art's kinda inconsistent there, I think it *mostly* gets her right, but it's something to keep an eye on.

I guess it doesn't really matter since they're going to murder her next issue, but if I'm being honest I guess I feel like they were trying to do with Depa what they did with Barriss. De-age her, make her more "white woman" pretty, while still trying to stay over the whitewashing line.

 

In a newer version of ROTS, every clone executing Order 66 is going to act all brainwashy, constantly saying "Good Soldiers follow Orders" and "Execute Order 66" out loud before killing a Jedi, instead of their more natural act from the previous version of the film.

 

and the problem with that is what? it falls in line with continuity.

 

Yeah, there are a number of issues introduced by having Order 66 be the result of artificial programming and not just the clones just being that well trained, but it doesn't really have any contradictions with what we see in the film itself.

 

Bah, storm in a glass of water. Have you seen latest Princess Leia covers? Looks like a latin woman. I consider it an artistic freedom. In KotOR series every new artist slightly changed the appearances of protagonists.
