Full Series Kanan (watch out for puns)

Yup. One of the first things I saw him in. He also married Daphne (Sarah Michelle Gellar) in real life.

So pretty sure Kanan and Maul bite it this season, probably the final. And Kanan is really what tethers Ezra from the dark side. At least considering how his story has progressed that’s the obvious road the writers will take it.

 

It will be sad to see Kanan struggling to see Ezra's future; almost blinded by Sith, unable to save his apprentice. As for the Ghost crew, it's like the being led by the blind now. Jez...

 

I will cry if Kanan dies. In my opinion he's by far gotten much more development that any of the other characters in Rebels, and seeing him go will really suck. We all know it has to happen eventually though, and with they way things are going I wouldn't be surprised if Ezra falls to the dark side and is the one to do it.

 

And all it took was adding a clone wars Character not named Ashoka aka Rex to spark A lot of that development.

 

I’m pretty sure it’s his characters relationship with Hera and Ezra and that fact he got his own novel and comic book series that has more to do with it.

 

Kanan is the most interesting character on the show, I'll be damned if he dies in S3. Plus FPJr is a legend and will likely be gutted as well since he absolutely LOVES being in Rebels and I don't want to see that happen.

 

When I played through Mass Effect recently, all I listened out for was Kanan whenever James Vega talked.

I've played both Sheps, but my favourite was Femshep with Traynor. I just think Femshep is generally cooler than Broshep.

 

But Liara is clearly the superior space lesbians romance.

If Kanan is possessed by the spirits of Dathomirians, I'd be interested to see why they turn on Maul.

Maybe the "spirits" don't possess Kanan but rather just make him stronger and help him see.

 

Rebels, for all its shortcomings, was responsible for making Kanan Jarrus/Caleb Dume my personal favorite Jedi of the EU universe.

Maybe it comes down to his story arc in Rebels, where he's a Padawan taking up a Padawan and doing his best to watch after the boy and his struggles in letting go. Hands down, it's my personal favorite EU Star Wars character arc, matched with Ahsoka's from The Clone Wars. Speaking of which, I felt it was a missed opportunity Kanan and Ahsoka didn't have much introspection toward each other when you consider their rather liberal attitudes toward Jedi philosophy, with the former reclaiming his Jedihood but the latter rejecting Jedihood.

I also think Freddie Prinze is pitch-perfect. In his voice, you hear a man's who gone through so much and acquired maturity as a result of these hardships. At the same time, there's that right touch of youthfulness that shows his rather hindered adulthood and he still has a long way to go. The final shot of a blinded Kanan defines his arc: his uncertain brink of ascendency in the Force.

A testament to how much I cared: When watching The Force Awakens for the third time, the thought stuck me, Where is Kanan Jarrus when the young girl from Jakku went to save the world with the disillusioned stormtrooper?

 

still, Kanan should keep an eye or two out for any Dathomirian shenanigans.

I hope we hear a little bit more about Kanan's past in season 3. Towards the end of the last season, he overcame the fears and was no longer blinded by them.
