Chic, IL Karaoke with Chicago Force January 12th!!

Excitement? Drinking? Off-key singing? A Jedi craves not these things. But we at Chicago Force sure do!! Come join us at the Blue Frog Grill, located at 676 N Lasalle in Chicago, on Saturday, January 12th. Starting at around 7pm, we'll start off with some cold beer, nerdly chatting, and access to numerous board games that the bar has. The real party starts later with the karaoke singing that is a must for everyone attending.

Also, free parking is available in front if you get there early enough(the lots fits about 12 cars).

I have yet to see a CF event that has an "end" time. They pretty much run till hosts say, "You don't have to go home, but you can't stay here!" And even then some of us end up elsewhere and continue with the "frivolity".

And as for the no smoking...the new law starts January 1st. So, yes, it will be a no-smoking environment just like everywhere else in Illinois by the time of this event.

Have since learned that I am KJ-ing elsewhere that same day,
Just too much happening during the Holiday Season....tho, they are all over with
by the 12-th,......planning time right now is pretty much out of control


and so I must lamely post......looking forward to next time.......

 

I believe the singing starts at 9:00.

I don't think I'll be able to make this even though the prospect of seeing Dak singing Prince is very enticing.

AMAZINGLY, I am still trying to attend this event!

The NO SMOKING anywhere, is encouraging.

The event I have going, not that the holidays are over,
and I am back at work.....where there are computers that kinda work,
as opposed to my house where both the laptop and the desktop decided
to both break for the holidays.

now that there seems to be less stress,

The event of mine that I mentioned earlier, is actually
Friday night.....so, I just have to try and see if there
is a way to make this event.

Id love to join! It would finally be nice to meet some star wars fans in the Chicago area.

Is it confirmed that this place is officially smoke free?

I've heard that some bars are shunning the ban because the city is not enforcing it.

 

I just tried calling the place and got no answer. I'll try later unless someone else wants to give it a go.

I was really hopeful to talk my wife into this, but, 10:00 P.M.
is just way too late.

I have been visiting the Karaoke circuit in general, and know too well,
that often, they say they start at a certain time,
but often, the first singer to start the rotation does not go on until
up to an hour later.

Many places do this just to sell stuff, and use the KJ set up time,
as an excuse and call it a start time

and so, please excuse my rant....

The later the start, the closer to home I would like to be.

If anyone knows of a place that starts actual singing around 7 or 8 pm,
let me know. I know about 5 to 10 singers would would love to learn of it.

However, most places are really not "Karaoke places"
that start real late like this.

They, rely on drinking and often stop the rotation of singers just to play
a song they think boosts the party atmosphere, cause someone might sing a
quiet song, or worse yet, something old fashion.

With that said, The reviews I read about the place are all quite good,
and if I get a chance to show up on my own, just to check things out,
I will try to make it.

Of course, having the CF there will rock the joint the way it should be rock!

I just called and confirmed that they are a non-smoking establishment in compliance with the new law.
