ST Kathleen Kennedy confirms new films will continue Skywalker saga

First I have seen it confirmed. Pretty much confirms Rey is indeed Lukes daughter. Now the fun will be trying to figure out how they got separated and why. Does he know she is alive? Was she at least partially trained in the force before they were separated.... Hype >10000!

In this clip, the interviewer asks KK and Ridley straight up if the rumors are true that Ray is Solo and Leia's daughter:

 

Why doesn't it? They already stated she was the main character. If she was some random unrelated character it would not be a continuation of the Skywalker saga.

I will give you it does not completely rule out her being Leia's daughter, but IMO it rules out all that "unrelated" nonsense.

 

I could watch clips of Daisy all day long. Gorgeous, intelligent, and still down to earth (I hope she can stay that way once she becomes one of the most recognizable people in the world)

 

She doesn't have to be Luke's daughter to be part of the Skywalker family line.

She's certainly able to keep a much better game face than KK when the interviewer asks her about being Han and Leia's daughter! A true professional.

I still hope so much for Rey Skywalker.

 

I'm not assuming either. I suspect it's just hype. I'll wait for the film.

 

Rey Solo and Rey Skywalker are both fine with me, as long as she's one of them and not a completely unrelated character.

 

This is my stance. But to me it is which ever makes for a better more believable story. I can think of more scenarios in my mind that her being Luke's daughter is more believable that is why I lean that way.

 

I think Rey Solo is the likeliest moniker in the movie even though it sounds like a porn name.

 

If she does turn out to be Luke's daughter I wonder who Leia's kid is, Kylo maybe?

I was also slightly disappointed to see Gleeson wasn't one of the leads, I had high hopes of him being the son of Skywalker lol

 

Not sure why that matters. Leia is as much a Skywalker as Luke.

 

because I want to follow stories of Luke's kids, And please not always the same with Leia is much a Skywalker. I'm mainly interested in Luke's family.

 

Poe strikes me as he could be Leia's son.

 

Well she IS, isn't she? I mean, it's okay if you're more interested in Luke for whatever reason, but Leia's kids would be as much as Skywalker, by descent, as any of Luke's. That's just a biological fact.

 

Yeah but there is a certain conservative, sexist, and ethnocentric group of us on the boards that think only those who have the Skywalker last name (males) are the only acceptable "Skywalkers" to carry the torch/lightsaber.

 

Maybe, but I personally doubt it. I think it would have been awesome if he was Wedge's kid. Maybe he's just an all new character, which would be fine with me.
