one of the other things i am into is an adventure race called Urban Challenge. the national finals in 2003 were held in new orleans and so i organized an online donation site that people can use to donate to the Red Cross' Disaster Relief Fund. it was set up for fans of Urban Challenge, but everyone is welcome to use it...

    Every little bit helps!

I live in knoxville Tennesse and our Civic Colliseum is setting up accomidations for thousands of people who have been displaced by this disaster and are heading here. I am an art teacher at an inner city school here and am used to working with kids who have almost nothing. A bunch of us art teachers in town are working on some sort of program where we can help teach the kids that are coming. I'll let you know how it goes.

The Red Cross is a great charity, but there are other charities too that can do things that the Red Cross can not do. The Red Cross has recieved 80% of all donations for Katrina relief so far. There is a list of worthy charities on the first page of the thread. Please give to some other charities along with Red Cross. Here are two more worthy charities.

Bump, and now we brace for Rita.

I have friends who evacuated to from NO to Houston and now again.

Going to need Imperial efficiency (the propoganda vision atleast) to recover from all this.
Luckily Houston is well above ground, so hopefully this won't hurt so much. But all our efforts, thoughts and prayers are never unneeded.
