I don't think that's the right word, considering she's been trained as a mechanic and this is her first big adventure. That said she's probably not going to be real enthusiastic about Finn's plans as 'making things up on the fly' is likely NOT in her comfort zone.

That would seem to fit with what I said...she's an engineer.

 

Do you not know what "tactician" means, or do you think I'm referring to the combat definition? The description here paints her as being all about strategy, math, logic... she's a problem solver, and her methodical approach clashes with Finn's much more impulse-oriented attitude.

There's supposed to be some kind of a fan event and press conference tomorrow, but I know no further details about that.

Veronica has a strong Vietnamese accent and Kelly has an American accent. I wonder if they'll touch on that in the film considering their characters were raised on the same planet.

I'm going to take back what I said about Rose. I still believe she may bring that cliched trope of the character who " starts off believing that they haven't got what it takes to make a difference, but ultimately finds her courage / skill / determination to save the day and emerge as a hero"

However, she does seem interesting, and I suspect that even if I am not sold on her, she will in fact go on to be a firm fan favourite.

Good luck to Ms Tran, let's hope so.

 

John talked about Kelly this morning on GMA:

I believe this is the only confirmation we have for rumours from way back when that John was doing chemistry reads with female actresses vying for the Rose part.

 

Kelly has also mentioned it in an interview (or two, I'm not sure).

 

Yeah, auditioning with an actor is pretty common in Hollywood.

John said he did screen test auditions with both Daisy and Oscar for TFA.

I have really high expectations for Rose now that Rian continues to reiterate that he's "most excited" for fans to meet her and see her performance. But I don't know...I just don't know how intriguing the character could actually be.
