CT Kenny Baker has passed away

A sad day... a true legend has passed away. He has become one with the force. RIP Kenny Baker.

 

Just heard the news - very sad. It just goes to show you how old a film is when some of the original cast members (who weren't that old when the film was released) start passing away of old age.

 

RIP kenny. you were always r-2 even when you werent in the suit or holding the remote or even on the set. and you will always be whenever he appears in the future

 

He was to me one of the best actors in the OT, he found a way to put emotion into an object with no feelings, which is a true accomplishment. If it weren't for him, Star Wars would be very different. He has gone onto a better place, and we all will miss him, he was the true hero of Star Wars. RIP Kenny Baker

 

Our thoughts and prayers are with Kenny Baker's friends and family. Star Wars fans will miss you.

Kenny Baker brought great joy to the roll of R2 and we were lucky to be able to share in it.

Last night, the Somerset Patriots (my local minor league baseball team) had their annual STAR WARS Night. The cut down on the usual festivities this year. They introduced the characters that were appearing, then mentioned Kenny Baker's passing. There was a moment of silence, followed by a tribute video from the Star Wars Channel. Then, they brought out a really well-made, radio controlled R2. It was very nicely done, I thought. RIP Kenny. You'll always be R2 to me, my favourite droid. You gave R2 such a heart
