    I hope he passed peacefully. But 81 years is a good long life.
    R2-D2 was always my favorite character when I first started watching the films as a kid.

    Artoo has always made me laugh, brought out the kid in me. That was one of the highlights of TFA for me was seeing him Awaken.

    Made me quite sad to hear this news, met him last year at invasion dublin and again this year at star wars celebration.
    Was such a nice genuine guy and am honored to have had the pleasure to meet him

    First thing I saw on my Facebook feed after finishing work was this news. Rest in peace, Kenny Baker. You gave life to the greatest robot in all of cinema.

    R.I.P. Kenny R2D2 has always been one of my favorite characters from the moment I fell in love with this great saga. You brought so much humanity to a role that wasn't easy to do. You will truly be missed

    Love R2D2. No SW without him. And he communicated the Saga to the Whills. Every time I see a shoyu bottle here in Japan at at a restaurant, I think of R2.
