Dude, I cannot begin to explain how STOKED I am that you told me this.

My brother and I shall both be there.

As Jacen and Jaina Solo. :D

Even though it's for the launch of a Dune book, members of the 501st have been at many of the venues in full costume: http://www.dunenovels.com/articles/quantico-and-bethesda

Glad to hear. Was kinda worried my brother and I would be the only ones doing something like that.

Someone want to confirm this event, I heard it was just canceled?

Apparently the Ottawa one is still a go.

    Where did you hear this????

Nobody panic just yet. It's still listed on:

    The Dune official site: http://www.dunenovels.com/events

The Merril collection's official site: http://www.torontopubliclibrary.ca/uni_spe_mer_whatsnew.jsp

    And KJA's official site: http://www.wordfire.com/travel.html

If it's really canceled at least one of these site should be updated.
Also, to know for certain, you can call the Merril Collection at: 416-393-7748. (I'd call myself but it's definitely after hours right now and I intend to sleep in late tomorrow. So I hope this will already be cleared up by the time I get out of bed.)

I don't think it's canceled... it's just not an official event for the big clubs to troop.

Guys, I kinda want to know...

...is anybody else planning to show up in costume or not? Because I know there was a turnout in Buffalo but idk about elsewhere.

For the record, there were no costumes, and their lack was actually commented on. KJA remarked that the local branch of the 501st must have been busy or something. So if anyone had come in costume they would have stood out, but no one would have found it weird since it seems people were expecting it.

Good time though. I got 8 books signed; 4 Dune and 4 Star Wars.

    Awwwww... DARN!

I wound up not going at the end because my mom was "too tired" to drive and for some reason thought it was "dangerous" to let her 20 year old daughter take public transport. Krifffffff!!!!!!!!

I had my kids... no chance for me. Else I would have Trooped it for sure! lol

I bet the 501st thought it was canceled cause it was canceled as an official event.

That could have been a possibility. :(

I think another issue is that the 501st forums are closed so that us non-501st SW costumers don't know what's going on there half the time. Oooooh well. Will be joining the 501st as soon as I get in good enough shape to pull off an awesome Mara Jade. :p
