I was going through Inspirational Quotes and seen VIO post about Zack saying something so I figured, let's start a new thread for the kids.

    Well okay,

Last week my son Zach asked my wife when is Zach day. My wife started laughing and asked him what Zach day was, he related it was a day that he got whatever he wanted at Toys R' Us. And for the last week he continues to keep bringing it up.

Awesome! Does that mean there is a VIO day?

actually every Thursday night is VIO day. I play in a golf league up in Dowagiac, having a blast and shot 39 tonight.

VIO failed to mention it was a Putt Putt golf league. So did you pick a day for Zach Day?

For the past few weeks Jacen has been screaming "Some days you gonna crash" from Cars. Just out of no where and for no reason at random like he has Terrets. He also has been asking me everyday, "Can we fix your white Samurai today?". For those of you who don't know, I rolled it last year and it needs a whole new body.

Actually he keeps yelling it with proper English. "Sometimes your going to crash" which really bugs Aiden. "No! It's GONNA!"

Between VIO's family and our kids, this thread will fill up fast.

abby looked me straight in the eye the other day and very seriously said to me,

    "Dugga-dig-snayt-blehbow-shoogka-shoog-min-ip-beebee"

she was INTENT that i understand her so the whole time, she's just looking at me nodding her head and not breaking eye-contact. it absolutely had me cracking up! i don't know what she was trying to convey to me, but it was imminent that she had my wholly undivided attention for that little tidbit.

from the Science Creative Quarterly :
    original

SARAH: Daddy, were you in the shower?

DAD: Yes, I was in the shower.

    SARAH: Why?

DAD: I was dirty. The shower gets me clean.

    SARAH: Why?

DAD: Why does the shower get me clean?

    SARAH: Yes.

DAD: Because the water washes the dirt away when I use soap.

    SARAH: Why?

DAD: Why do I use soap?

    SARAH: Yes.

DAD: Because the soap grabs the dirt and lets the water wash it off.

    SARAH: Why?

DAD: Why does the soap grab the dirt?

    SARAH: Yes.

DAD: Because soap is a surfactant.

    SARAH: Why?

DAD: Why is soap a surfactant?

    SARAH: Yes.

DAD: That is an EXCELLENT question. Soap is a surfactant because it forms water-soluble micelles that trap the otherwise insoluble dirt and oil particles.

    SARAH: Why?

DAD: Why does soap form micelles?

    SARAH: Yes.

DAD: Soap molecules are long chains with a polar, hydrophilic head and a non-polar, hydrophobic tail. Can you say ?hydrophilic??

    SARAH: Aidrofawwic

DAD: And can you say ?hydrophobic??

    SARAH: Aidrofawwic

DAD: Excellent! The word ?hydrophobic? means that it avoids water.

    SARAH: Why?

DAD: Why does it mean that?

    SARAH: Yes.

DAD: It?s Greek! ?Hydro? means water and ?phobic? means ?fear of?. ?Phobos? is fear. So ?hydrophobic? means ?afraid of water?.

    SARAH: Like a monster?

DAD: You mean, like being afraid of a monster?

    SARAH: Yes.

DAD: A scary monster, sure. If you were afraid of a monster, a Greek person would say you were gorgophobic.

    (pause)

SARAH: (rolls her eyes) I thought we were talking about soap.

DAD: We are talking about soap.

    (longish pause)

    SARAH: Why?

DAD: Why do the molecules have a hydrophilic head and a hydrophobic tail?

    SARAH: Yes.

DAD: Because the C-O bonds in the head are highly polar, and the C-H bonds in the tail are effectively non-polar.

    SARAH: Why?

DAD: Because while carbon and hydrogen have almost the same electronegativity, oxygen is far more electronegative, thereby polarizing the C-O bonds.

    SARAH: Why?

DAD: Why is oxygen more electronegative than carbon and hydrogen?

    SARAH: Yes.

DAD: That?s complicated. There are different answers to that question, depending on whether you?re talking about the Pauling or Mulliken electronegativity scales. The Pauling scale is based on homo- versus heteronuclear bond strength differences, while the Mulliken scale is based on the atomic properties of electron affinity and ionization energy. But it really all comes down to effective nuclear charge. The valence electrons in an oxygen atom have a lower energy than those of a carbon atom, and electrons shared between them are held more tightly to the oxygen, because electrons in an oxygen atom experience a greater nuclear charge and therefore a stronger attraction to the atomic nucleus! Cool, huh?

    (pause)

    SARAH: I don?t get it.

DAD: That?s OK. Neither do most of my students.

We were at Kohl's looking for some presents for a baby shower (not WOX's btw) and I took Aiden by the toys. We passed by an endcap of Transformers and ...

Aiden: Daddy, I want another Transformer
Daddy: You just got one the other night, not right now.
Aiden: But Dad, I need BumbleBee.
Daddy: Not now, maybe next week.

We then went through the aisles and Aiden said in every aisle: "Nope, no Transformers." Thankfully there is only 4 or 5 aisles.

This morning I was playing Conquer Club and Aiden was watching me. It was the USA map and I explain how the games works (the basics).

I was in the middle of marching through the board taking over states and he goes:

"Why are you taking so long? There is only 50 states."

    Only 50..jeesh, kids.

After every state I took, Aiden would cheer me on. "Good job Daddy".

It's never enough to have a dessert or a treat, you have to have them in multiples.

This morning while eating brunch with the fam at a buffet:

Niece Shianna: "Can Wesley have ice cream?"
Wesley's Mom: "Wesley you have to eat two more bites of food on your plate before you can have ice cream."
Niece Shianna: "OKay Wes. Eat two more bites of doughnut so we can get ice cream."

    She met the conditions.

OK, then I guess I have to ask, when do kids start talking? I know it's different for everyone, but I'd like to think my kids are going to be smarter than all the other kids born to date...

Zach said the most brilliant thing last week,

Zach: Dad can you run on water?

Me: No there is only one person who can run on water?

    Zach: Who?

    Me: Jesus

Zach: Can Jesus walk on water?

    Me: yes

Zach: Can Jesus sit on water?

    Me: yes

Zach: Can Jesus breath under water?

Me: Yes, I think he can

Zach after some hesistation: I know something Jesus can't do?

    after a short pause

    Zach: Jesus can't get lost

I was already to say of course he can, and then realized he was right
