Jacen (talking about his teacher from daycare who just had a baby)

Jacen - "I think Miss Rachel broke her belly."

WOBDZ - "Why do you think that?"

Jacen - "Because . . . to get her baby out. Her baby is out, so her belly must be broke. She broke it to get the baby out."

WOBDZ - "No she didn't have to break her belly."

Aiden perked up "Then how DOES the baby come out?" No simple answer like BDZ saying "You just go to the hospital and the baby comes out," would suffice Aiden's curiousity. Then he was surprised to find out that I don't have a "doofer." Finally I look online for the appropriate answer for his age and explained it to him, minus using some terminology, just due to the fear of my kid sounding like the little boy from Kindergarten Cop.

Aiden & Jacen - "Did Daddy have lunch yet?!"
WOBDZ - (knowing they're plotting to go to BK or McD's) "You already had lunch."
Aiden - "That's not what I asked. I said did MY DAD eat lunch already?"
    WOBDZ - "Yes."
Aiden - "Thank you, that answered the question that I asked. You need to turn on your listening ear and use it. It's called 'ACTIVE LISTENING'. It's listening to what people are saying to you and giving them your undivided attention while they are talking to you."

(ouch, dissed by my 5 year old)

A few weeks ago, Aiden was deep in thought... "Mommy, why did Grandpa Bobby have to die?" I explained "It was just his turn, God wanted him to be in heaven." Aiden was appaulled, "Ugh! Why would God WANT people to die!?!?" (cue Ben Stein quote from Ferris Beuller... "Anyone? Anyone? Anyone?")

He's had some tough questions lately, tough truths too.

Aiden: "Mommy, all the stores are sold out of TransFormers games! You can't get it anywhere, but that's why I'm getting it for Christmas. Santa can just make more and he's going to bring one to me, so I'll just wait. 'Cause we can't go buy it at the store, they're sold out. So Santa is going to put it up in my stocking just for me!"

gee, I do not have any kids, nor are there any in the family, capable of speech at this time.

Given this handicap, I think I need a definition of kid and is it ok to solicit a quote...

    go for it, lol

Today Aiden asked a very hard question for me to answer...

"Mommy, I don't get it, why does Daddy like Star Wars so much?"

(and thus, WOBDZ was forever banned from the boards)

i got asked the same question about football. my response was that i used to play it competitively. i was then asked why i liked to play it, to which i responded, "because i could beat the snot out of other people and not get in trouble for it." these are the responses that my kids find funny but my nieces/nephews find terrifying.

We were coming home from the Chicago Auto Show on the South Shore and Aiden says, "Something stinks in here." Jacen looked at him with a serious face and said, "Maybe it's you." There was a slight pause in which Aiden had a puzzled look on his face, then Jacen erupted in laughter (along with myself and Jeff).

Was in Florida a couple weeks ago in line with Zach on a water slide and it was 82 degrees and not a cloud in the sky. This was the week that South Bend didn't close schools and people were really upset. Our school district was closed two days that week.

Me: "Talked to papa this morning and he relates there is a lot of snow at home. Do you want to stay and swim or go home and play in the snow?"

Zach "I want to go play in the snow"

    I am kinda sure that,

    WOBDZ, is someones kid:D

and in a different area, I lamented that

WOBDZ, has not posted since Nov-07

and then I started reading this thread,

and then I realized, what the last thing posted (said) (or I can quote was)

    and then I wondered.....

Here is my quote from that WOBDZ-kid's ____last post,
It is the last line of their last post,

We were playing the Wii the other day and my Mom and her friend Jeff was over. Aiden was playing and wanted Jeff to play with him but Jacen gave my Mom the controller. I had said "Bros" then stopped because it was my Mom. Aiden kept it going and told Jacen "Bros before Hoes". We were all laughing except Mom. I said, "Where did you hear that?" and Aiden replied, "Transformers Daddy."

    Sorry to confuse,

I was just trying to tease WOBDZ into posting:)

    given the "devil-may-care"
    SouthBend attitude about "banning",

I thought that it was funny, that WOBDZ,
banned herself on the last line of her last post,
which was some time ago.....which I took to also be
    pretty gosh darn funny.

oh well, am trying to get WOBDZ out of ....hhhmmmm...retirement?

Take into account that they have watched it over 30 times though. You need to preview the movie and just jump past the parts you don't want him to see. It is an awesome movie that shouldn't be missed by kids of all ages.

right now both boys are watching the cartoons and both like them alot. I was thinking of getting the old cartoons on disc so they could watch it more. It is always great to have an activity they both like.

The other day I was watching MXC on Spike and a guy jumped up on a mechanical bull and said "Ow my nuts!"
I ignored it as Jacen was sitting on the floor playing with Transformers. A few minutes later out of the blue Jacen says "Ow my nuts!" I wanted to laugh but I ignored it. That is all I need is him running around saying that.
