So...now I know the name of this Tim Burton-looking plant that I will surround my future home with as my black cats sun themselves on my front porch. Now I just have to find places that sell the darn things...

There's apparently quite a few varieties of that plant including one with bright red leaves. That one (Contorsis) is the one with the squirrelly branches, though.

#7) Research a darkside group other than the Sith.

I chose to look into a dark side faction I know absolutely nothing about in order to broaden the scope of my knowledge. Here goes…

Ember of Vahl

The Ember of Vahl was a cult primarily made up of those belonging to the Vahla species. Vahla were a near-human nomadic people that were gifted with force sensitivity. The ancient ones dedicated their lives to the goddess Vahl, an embodiment of the dark side of the Force. It was said the Vahl, depicted most often as a mature female Vahla with white hair and black eyes, had originally been a powerful Force Adept who was the leader of a conquering army that took back the Vahla’s original homeworld. Regardless of those stories being rumor or fact, the cult was short lived.

They were deemed destructive and being so lead to their own demise. In the Old Republic era, shortly before the Sith-Imperial War, the entirety of the cult was put down by Jedi Knights who thought them too dangerous to ignore. Since then, the Vahla have continued to wander the galaxy in hopes of finding their long-lost home planet.

There were no known prominent members of the Ember of Vahl, only the deity they served. The only, very thin connection to the Sith would come in the form of the Empire. It was said that the Vahla later aided the Empire in the hunt for Jedi.

Not much more can be said about this lesser known group as there isn't much to go on, as you can see. This is what I find most intriguing. I would love to learn more about their time as a fully organized cult as well as the goddess herself.

It amazing when you dig deeper into these darkside groups and find the subtle connections - while sometimes "thin" there are always interesting connections. Excellent, great information for all of us.
