    (SC-approved.)

Well, as the game is now released, thought a spoiler free thread would be in order for all of us who won't have the game 'til Christmas or February.

So, hopefully those that have the game'll be able to talk to us about the mechanics and such in here, and leave out plot spoilers, plus we can continue various splot speculation.

WHY IS THIS GAME NOT COMING OUT FOR GAMECUBE!!!

Eh. I guess I'll be getting it when it comes out for PC in Feb. Mind you, I haven't actually played KOTOR yet, so I guess I best get cracking on that over summer.

I gotta wait till Feb too. Think the system requirements will be close to the original because it's using the same engine?

I read somewhere that it should be.

On one hand, it has some extra stuff and that will make it more resource-intensive

On the other hand, they've had a couple of years to tweak the engine

    Maybe it will balance out.

That's about the sum total of it yeah. I've owned the game for 8 or so months (I got it when I bought a new video card).

But as family life only allows me to play games in short 30 minute blocks a few times a week, I've never had the chance to actually get into the story.

Other, less plot driven games have ursurped KOTOR on my PC (Dark Forces Mod, Armed & Dangerous etc).

My comp ran KoTR when it was a 1.0ghz with 512ram, which I believe is below specs.

Pirates! doesn't seem that resource heavy, It'll probably run

Edit: Go here before SoloCommand yells at us.

Does anyone of you know if there is a hood up/hood down function? You know, it is these details that make a good game great. I wouldn't consider it a "spoiler".

I'm pretty sure that there are robes with hoods down, and robes with hoods up, but they're seperate, and you can't toggle the hood up or down.

The Xbox Live downloadable content was never even released here in Norway, so now that I have to wait until next year for both Xbox and PC versions, there's no doubt that I'll pick up the PC game.

The PC version won't have an extra level like the first one. It will be the same version with some minor changes.

    Hey!

I getting the game soon. I'd like to know if there is a Level Cap? I know it goes past 20, but still, a level cap or it goes on forever to 99?

Just wondering before I get the game.

I'm sure I read on IGN that there is no level cap, and you can pretty much become as powerful as you want....which is good, because you can be all powerful. And bad, as well, because the game becomes a bit too easy. :)

No limit? So should you just spend the first few days fighting enemies over and over again like on the first one with the Kath hounds? That was a tad monotonous because their points were so low.

I played through the entire first game without ever level-grinding. In fact, I don't think it was until my third time through that I figured out that leveling had to do with XP. It took me even longer to figure out what XP was. I'd imagine that you can play through the entire game without having to do any of that grinding.

Did they mention it in the game manual? if not, then I assume there isn't one.
