KOTOR 8 preview is up

That's got to be the most beautiful thing I've seen from a Star Wars comic in years.

 

Upon first glance, the art looked too dissimilar to the previous issues to be part of the series.

Upon second glance, I'm in love. Really great art, and really captures the action well. The series is getting very interesting.

 

Nice artwork. got really excited, then realisde it was Mandalore, not Revan, still pretty good though.

 

Now I need one of our Mando'a fluent Fandalorians to explain to me what (if anything) the difference is between "Mandalore" and "Mand'alor". Is he being addressed by someone with an accent? Is Mandalore the planet and Mand'alor the title and Canderous and Boba Fett and every other Mand'alor except this one got it wrong? Is it just John Jackson Miller trying to embellish the Mandalorian language with more apostraphes (including ' makes a word look more alien dontchaknow). What gives?

 

That's ori'kandosii! The Mando fleet is BEAUTIFUL, as is the art!

Mand'alor is Mandalore in Mando'a.

Say, alor means "leader" in Mando'a, and all Mandos call their Mandalore in their native language, just as in A Practical Man. All outsider, auretiise, call the Mandalore "Mandalore".

 

Is this Mandalore the Ultimate, then?

 

The Mongolore looks, I have to admit, rather cool...

All kidding aside, the artwork for this preview looks very good. I love that shot of Mandalore in the kind of classic looking mask standing next to one of his subordinates in the whole new getup. As someone said before, the fleet just looks awesome.

 

Man, that Mando fleet looks awesome! And they included Basilisks, too. w00t!

 

Yep. And they look awesome! I'm wondering whether the fighters are predeccedors of the Gladiator assault fighters... I'd love to see how latter look like...

 

Looks very nice

I especially like the old school look of Mandalore, they even seem to have kept the mask the same as from the old TotJ comics. It's good to see them trying to blend the two art styles together, even the Taung-shaped head looks right.

Yep you bet. Well lets just say that he becomes Ultimate.

 

That looks good and i did think of Revan first.

 

I certainly hope we do get to see Revan in this comic series at some point.

He deserves to be illustrated beyond cameo appearances!
