I haven't read the book or played TOR yet, but if what I just read is how they treated Revan and The Exile, then I'm not even sure I want to. Though i would love to play TOR and learn the new Sith Lore out there.

What are the most awesome mods for KOTOR I/II?
I read that the restoration mod for II is advised but is there also a good one for I?

Guys, I just realized something. If they were ever to make a KOTOR movie, and wanted to base Revan off his TOR appearance, Henry Ian Cusick would literally be the perfect actor. Check it:

It would have to be a KoTOR the first for me, I haven't gotten far enough to see him in the Online one yet and his plot lines sound ominous to far into his future. Leave me the mystery of KoTOR one in a movie and I would be happy ;)

The Nar Shaddaa we are presented with in KOTOR II (and other Star Wars games, like Dark Forces), is that of a grey on black city-world, dark, crime-filled and mysterious.

However, the Nar Shaddaa presented in SWTOR (and other EU material for that matter) portrays it as a cyberpunk-esque, galactic Las Vegas, with shimmering lights and visible pollution and traffic all over the place.

What is the meaning of this discrepancy? Could Nar Shaddaa have changed that much in only a few years between KOTOR II and SWTOR?

I have a theory, which is that they take place in completely opposite sides of the planet. And I have evidence to back it up, from SWTOR:

First off, Nar Shaddaa from KOTOR II: http://screenshots.filesnetwork.com/68/potd/1225177491_91.jpg

Next, we have Nar Shaddaa from SWTOR: http://corellianrun.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/04/NarShaddaa.bmp

Finally, a picture of Nar Shaddaa from orbit (from SWTOR): http://liberi-fatali.net/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/Nar-Shaddaa1.jpg

I say the bright spots are the very up-scale, flashy city that we see in SWTOR. It makes sense that the Hutts would want to show this aspect of Nar Shaddaa off to the Republic and Empire. But the darker spots are the places that are along the lines we see in KOTOR II; the Refugee Sector, for example. Not nearly as bright, vibrant, or life-filled.

Centuries have passed between KOTOR II and SWTOR, and an era of relative peace in fact, compared to the back to back Freedon Nadd/Uliq & Exar/Mandalorian/Revan conflicts that had plagued the Outer Rim by the time The Sith Lords came around. By the time Dark Forces came along Palpatine had ruled the galaxy for a while and everything was much grimmer for it.

Ignoring the graphical differences, not all of Nar Shaddaa looks like that in SWTOR. That's the Promenade/Casino area, which is very upscale. The areas you go to with combat and plot advancement are nowhere near that flashy and clean, except maybe the entrance of the red light sector.

I'd say NS is a place that fluctuates quite substantially depending on who is controlling it at any particular time. With the all the wars I'd say that changes quite a bit, and with the Hutt's currently in power during the TOR timeline, making it flashy and attractive to the Pub/Imps is a way to draw them in.

    I'm currently really....really angry with SWTOR....

EA and BioWare should really fix the problem with Bitraider, either delete it or update it....that **** thing just fack the whole game up!

I subscribed for it. At lvl 55 now tho, can't justify buying Shadow of Revan when i'm just gonna be annoyed at their interpretation of Revan the whole time.

SoR's worth it, imo. Lots of fun, mostly with the non-Revan characters. But you'll get it for free once KotFE is out, as a sub.

I've been a sub since release now but can't bring myself to play Revan lol.
Think I have 6 characters at 55 now but can't decide IF I want to play it through and with WHICH character first.

So... anyone else mourning the loss of filefront for KOTOR mods? There's a few other places to get them, I'm just glad I already have all the ones I regularly use.

    Wait, filefront is gone?

Man, that sucks. Good thing Restoration Mod is on Steam now. And that I already got the ones I needed for KOTOR. Gonna suck to lose my Flashpoint mods though.

Yeah, not entirely sure when but it's just not there any more, saw someone posting about it. Apparently the files are still hosted if you have the direct link, but I have no idea how that works. Deadlystream should have most of them (though not easy to search/find them) and there is a KOTOR 1/2 section of nexusmods with a handful (including some I haven't seen before), as well as the ones available on steam now. So it's not a complete loss, it's just that filefront was kind of the place to go.

I'm a big fan of the two KotOR games. Never played TOR, but I kept up with the lore as I love the time period! I was pretty bummed with the novel Revan particularly
    the treatment of the Exile
but other than that I've loved pretty much everything about The Old Republic time period. I'm one of those people who can harp on for hours about how there should be a third KotOR game and about how all The Old Republic EU should be canon, but I'm sure its a sentiment people are sick of hearing, so I'll spare you all :p

I would be totally game for an Old Rep based Netflix show though!!
