I've been waiting for one of these to pop-up on Tatooine with a fully trained Jedi kicking dragon butt - But, unfortunately, Attack of the Clones disappointed on this particular issue. Do you think that Episode 7,8, or 9 will finally make Star Wars a dragon-friendly franchise?

For me, it all depends on whether they play it as entertaining fan service or cheap wish fulfillment, which can be a very fine line. Tatooine should be used very sparingly, though I suppose if it does appear, they might as well go big and throw in a Krayt Dragon fight. There has to be a legitimate reason to go there, though.

I think it would be a great set piece if perhaps there was a speeder chase through the canyons that got complicated by the appearance of a very angry Krayt Dragon mother. That sort of scenario just screams Star Wars to me.

Really? So Saarlac pit in ROTJ wasn´t just made up for that movie? What filmmakers will want to be on Tatooine, will be on the Tatooine.

Relax, I was just exaggerating to make a point.

i like the idea of never seeing the krayt dragon alive. it makes seeing its massive skeleton in ANH much more foreboding.

I also like the idea of only ever seeing the skeleton. Let's stay away from Tatooine this time round. How about another large lizard/dragon like creature on another planet?

    Pretty much this.
In all honesty, I'm sick and tired of that place. It's a huge galaxy, let's see some more places.
Even if they do need a desert setting, I'd rather they make it a different planet. Tatooine is way overused for a supposedly remote backwater.

Well, according to the expanded universe I believe Obi-Wan eradicated them. However, as I said many times since October, I'd love to see Luke and his padawans sqare off against a Krayt Dragon and save a Tatooine colony whilst doing so -- would be an Epic way to introduce the new characters IMO. Posted this idea many times now . . . .

Can we then cast Daenerys and use her Dragons? They're pretty awesome

I'd rather a fully jedi trained krayt dragon taking on the Sith.

I think it's safe to say they'll be zero fan service.

It's really not J.J Abrams style.

I think he proved that with the big red hairless floppy beast on that icy planet Spock was marooned on in Star Trek.
