So, when did your love for Kyp blossom?

I liked Kyp so much in the Jedi Academy trilogy. His story was pretty good in the NJO as well. I wish he had his own trilogy in the post FOTJ timeline

I loved NJO Kyp, but first became a fan with the JAT.

And to think, NJO Kyp nearly didn't happen thanks to Del Rey almost overlooking Bantam continuity.

Yes, I am glad they decided to make the renegade master good old Kyp. I think it added a great deal to his character.

Wasn't he supposed to be some character called the Wizard or something?

What I read somewhere was that he basically was planned to be what he ended up being in the series, a Jedi Master at odds with Luke Skywalker's approach to the war. Just initially Del Rey was going to make the character an original one until they decided to go with Kyp.

But maybe thats not right. If someone knows the full story I would love to hear it.

Seeing as how there is going to be a Jaina trilogy now, I'd really like for the other notable Jedi to be featured. I think a Kyp Durron trilogy would be fantastic.
