VERY VERY TRUE........ It's pretty amazing that the parties we have stay as "normal" as they do, now that I think about it.......

    Purple Meat!?!?!? Yikes!

Sorry, I have been working... but not at work! This is the time I switch the menus and databases over to the next month for Do it Dinners (Melanie's business) and as you can see, I'm not very far along on August... in fact nothing new is posted yet! www.doitdinners.com

And she has me working on a couple other ventures (including a cool one, we are working on a stormtrooper calendar!)

Andromeda, I told you I have to work for it!

Seems to me there was a ST:TNG episode about that. There was this unisex world where no one was sexually differentiated and they reproduced by test tube. Riker befriends this one inhabitant and gets a little frisky with "it" (eeeewww!) and they have to deprogram her/it. Anyway, it doesn't quite seem like that whole unisex thing works for homo sapiens. I mean it sounds egalitarian in theory, but it's just not pragmatic. On the other hand, the sex thing is also problematic for many of us. But it seems to 'beat' the alternative. lol

I remember that episode. All though not unisex, Demolition Man explored the whole no sex issue. What kind of world would that be?????

there is actually a lizard here in the southwest that they have been studying for about 25 years. They could only find females and they found out last year that there are no males at all. The females give birth to clones of themselves.

They took what they knew of the species and paralleled it to ours and found that it is possible that in 5,000 years there will be no males left. They took a look at the male/female birth ratios which have been declining slightly over the past thousand years.

Hmmmm... wonder where they got their statistics...

1,000 BC- Canaanite Caveman statistician with cuneiform clipboard and skin smock takes note of declining male population...

That'd actually make a pretty good Gary Larsen cartoon!

But for homo sapiens to evolve into asexual reproduction, well, that would require a pretty major divergent speciation event on the order of X-Men... or would that be X-Women?

    [face_laugh]

I'm sorry, that's really all tongue in cheek for me. I mean you no disrespect, Varza. It's the biologists and anthropologists that I disrespect, who write such bizarre theories. It's just not good science, that's all.
