ST Lando possibly in Episode 7 (or 8) after all?

What if Lando is the bar owner where MVS's character frequents????

DR walks in looking for MVS, when her droids enter Lando yells "hey your droids ain't welcome here...but you are babe" followed by his famous smile.

Actually, I was thinking of "the cool black guy of the OT" symbolically passing the torch to "the cool black guy of the ST". And I'm BEYOND grateful that John is joined by Lupita and Crystal.

I would be fine with him showing up somewhere in VIII. It rhymes, you know.

 

Lando is cooler then the other side of the pillow put him in VII. It would be cool to see him and Han in the Falcon together,maybe they're rescuing boyega and Ridley who end up being there kids but people would probably say "not everyone has to be related to an OT character" but I say why not? Is it not possible Han luke and Lando have kids that go on there own quest to save the GFFA?

I would like to see Lando in the ST; but only if he has his own ship. Keep him away from the Falcon.

 

He also added "There’s nothing I can really discuss about it at this stage.", which read to the hopeful part of me like it is being discussed or there are negotiations.

 

Seems like he's hinting at a possible appearance.

It would be great to see him back. I really feel for Lando when he has to betray Han and co. in ESB. Hope there can be another moment like that one.

joking but I do hope he appears in VIII, otherwise it would be kinda weird to never see Lando again.

 

Well, at least he'll be in VIII from the sound of all this.

 

Lando deserves to be a part of the new trilogy. He blew up the 2nd Death Star!
I hope he returns. Infact, if Han does die at the end of Ep. 7, it would be cool to see Lando either show up at the final scene, or have him show up in Ep. 8 to kindof replace Han's role.

 

I reckon both he and Ford bookend the standalone film...

 

He was in the Arndt draft, so who knows if that carried over.

It was just a small cameo though.

 

I have a feeling that he's already been contacted by Kennedy or Rian Johnson about Episode 8. They must have a draft of 8 by now (shooting a year from now in spring 2016), and I'd be really excited to see Lando play a small but crucial role. Surely they can come up with a way that General Calrissian comes to the aid of the younger heroes, unexpectedly and surprising when they most need help would be a fun way for it all to happen. Would be cool to see Lobot with Lando too!

 

Sadly, John Hollis is long dead, so they would have to recast Lobot. (BTW, he also appeared in Blake's 7, Doctor Who and the Superman films so he certainly was prolific in the genre.)

 

The way he constantly starts and stops when he responds to the question about being in the sequel trilogy, plus the part about how he can't discuss it at this stage is a pretty big indicator that they've probably spoken to him about being in VIII.

 

Do we know exactly what was in the Arndt draft?

 

With the character's appearance on Rebels, it makes me think Billy Dee is preparing to come back for 8 and maybe 9. I always loved his "smoothie" and he was a fun character.

Besides, I'd love to see him and Han bicker or boast about life together.

 

Basically at the end the Rebel fleet shows up and it's commanded by Lando. Very small "what have we here" style cameo.

 

He's going to show up in VIII, at least.

 

I'd LOVE to see Han and Lando fighting side by side. They never get much interaction really after their initial in-movie meeting on Cloud City.
