The windshield is not accurate so that might be replaced, plus the front hood is wood, and needs to be replaced. The mesh along the sides needs to be replaced with accurate metal sheeting, AND it would be nice to put the engines on a switch, so you can raise and lower them so the darn thing can fit in the garage. Those are the things I am thinking of having Elstree complete. Plus the inside still looks like a car. I want it to look more like a landspeeder would look inside, or like Shawn has his H-Wing rigged up.

Eh, flights to the UK aren't all that expensive, plus the trip there was already in the works. Ben lives near Elstree and said I, and the kids if they go, can stay there. So when the Jedi training days was announced for this summer, that pretty much decided when we would go. Provided they aren't during Comic Con... ;)

Just do not expect to buy anything here cause its very expensive. :p

I just got confirmation from elstree that they are just having to get approval from lucasfilm at the moment so they can go ahead with it all which I believe something like this to be honest they would have to go over to california to sort out.

I just think its great that there is a surge of people that want to come over here to the little old uk :D

edit: Anyway why are people posting at stupid times of the morning?? nightwalkers :p

They have oral approval from LFL, they just need to complete the paperwork so they have written approval as well.

I woudnt mind a Batman Begins Batmobile.

    [image=http://www.superherotimes.com/assets/newsimages/Batmobile1.jpg]

That one actually had a few screen used versions that functioned as you saw in the film.
Chevy small block V8 350 engine and driveable.

    http://auto.howstuffworks.com/batmobile1.htm

The other batmobiles in the other movies were made to just look pretty.
(Which ironically is my opinion of those other movies too!)
The Keatonmobile is great to look at, but had a VW engine! LOL
Though Im not sure about the others, but I suspect they were similar.

The old TV series had a few versions used for drag racing too.

    [image=http://greene-shipman.org/Batmobile7.jpg]

That WAS the Batmobile to me growing up. I think you can buy repros of it if you have
    the $$$.

    http://www.moviewavs.com/cgi-bin/tvwavs.cgi?Batman=batman.wav

Batman: To the Batmobile! Lets go!
Robin: Atomic batteries to power. Turbines to speed.
Batman: Roger. Ready to move out.

    VVVVVRRRRROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!!!

The top batmobile well it was built here in the uk aswell, linda will not even be able to afford that one :p it costs £180,000 ($360,000) and no way is it road legal.
I have seen the bottom one aswell at loads of conventions here.

I tell you what is an affordable car used in a uk tv series which she could buy and would look nice the "trotters independent" 3 wheeler car from only fools and horses. :p

I LOVE those three-wheelers over there. Course here, you have to register them as a Trike. (3-wheeled motorcycle).

As for the Batmobile. Growing up, one of my friend's uncles helped covert the orginal Bubble Top vehicle. So, I got to ride in the TV Batmobile, the Munstermobile, Green Hornet's car and at least sit in the Coffin Dragster from Munsters! No wonder I love art cars!! :D

they are slowly dying out the 3 wheelers round the corner from where I work someone owns 2 of them cause they are pretty cheap to run but you still have to register them as a car.

One of the American auto makers has already produced a proto-type of a three wheel car that they would like to put on the road in a year or so.

My father built a Tike, which is slang for a three wheel motorcycle, 20 years ago from a Norton motorcyle and VW. The DMV does not recognize that type of transport as a car so they have to be registered as a motorcycle. The insurance companies, however, do not see them as motorcyles so they have to be insured as a car. My fathers is listed as a Jetta. It was on the road until last winter when it sprang a major oil leak and now needs an engine rebuild. That sadly will probably not happen as my father broke his hip in November and is still having trouble walking, let alone trying to drive.

Some of the European three wheel cars might be able to be registered as a car since it is something that is in production or at least was at one time. There are also golf carts that are three wheel that can be driven on some roads but are restricted.

According to DMV, anything with 3 wheels comes under the jurisdiction of Trike. However, if they are built on a car frame, then the VIN number is registered as the make.. (example VW frame.. then the reg is VW, but catagory is Trike), but it still is under the jurisdiction of trike. Found this out a few years ago when I was (a) looking at trying to get one of the three-wheeled cars (someone in Springville had one) and (b) getting a Trike built. The regs were just too complicated and I finally said..forget it.

CA DMV is pretty adament. No exceptions according to them.

So as much as I want a three-wheeled car...and especially one of the British ones..not gonna happen LOL

    Amaaaaaaaaaaaazing, Linda!!

I remember the last time this was up on Ebay, I bid on it myself til it went over $8500 and at that point I couldn't afford any more. Congrats!!!

I had big plans for it, replace the escort motor with a Cosworth XR4Ti turbo motor so it had some real landspeeder getup and go, not to mention the turbine noise :) And of course do something with that car interior.

Well I give up, its been months and no ownership documents from the guy who sold me the landspeeder. After months and a $500 phone call to the UK, and trying to work things out with people I know over there, I give up. If you see the landspeeder up for sale on ebay, thats me trying to sell it to a person in the UK. Shipping a vehicle from one country to another isn't as easy as it appears, especially when the previous owner isn't giving me the required paperwork.

Ben tried. All he got out of the guy was a bunch of talk and promises, same as I got. That guy could talk your ear off. Most everything he said was a lie as it turns out.
