OK, folks. In almost four years now (has it been that long?) I have heard many opinions on which one is better/worse and why. Now I want yours. Personally I think they both suck but what do you expect from an alien music band?!? :) But if I were to pick one it would have to be Jedi Rocks because of the cooler-sounding music, love that harmonica bluesy sound! ;)

I like "Jedi Rocks" a bit better, but "Lapti Nek" is also good, in a nostalgic sort of way.

Jedi Rocks blows Lapti Nek out of the water. Whenever I watch ROTJ:SE, i always crank up the volume when the song comes up

Lapti Nek was way funkier. Jedi Rocks is full of this cookie cutter faux soul..blech.

And I liked yub yub better, too, although the suggestion that yub yub be morphed into the new song was a good idea.

    Peace,
    Fatboy

Well I like 'Jedi Rocks' better. Though I could dance to either 1.

I'm glad they changed the 'yub nub' song. Though parts of it were kinda funny.

LAPTI NEK! That was one of my pet peeves with the SE. Why the heck would they get rid of that great disco song and stick in some stupid non-John Williams song with a dumb title and an even dumber dance routine?? Grrrr.....

I take my music very seriously. ;) To be honest, I find Lapti Nek to be incredibly corny, but you see, that's why I like it so much! It just fits the scene perfectly, and "Jedi Rocks" (what the heck do JEDI have to do with it????) will never compare.

Ah, Jedi Rocks is actually written with the "Jedi" in italics, meaning (at least to me) that they meant [Return of the] Jedi Rocks!

I liked Lapti Nek better than Jedi Rocks. Jedi Rocks is too slow in my opinion. They should have just extended Lapti Nek for the special edition scene.

I also like Jedi Rocks better. It seems to have more "life" in it, especially the dance number in the film.

Both suck compared to the two Bith-band pieces in ANH. But anyway, the lesser of two Evils in this case would be . . . Jedi Rocks. It's got more of a groove.

    Lapti Nek without question.

Allthough Jerry Hey is the greatest horn arrangement maker in the world. AND he plays the trumpet like no other. (Jerry Hey composed Jedi Rocks)

    Lapti Nek wins

But originaly there was a longer version (I somehow have it on my old CD soundtrack with "lost tracks") and I know on the old 80's making of SW video it had exerpts from the Lapti Nek scene, but GL decided that the puppet and song were too corny.

    CORN ME UP!

You SE people sicken me, Jedi Rocks is a steaming pile of dog poo infesting a movie that many people already had problems with. Lapti Nek was the perfect song for a place like Jabba's place, kind of a sleazy, trashy Joan Jett kinda song. And that Honeycomb monster was ridiculous looking, especially with that stupid tonsil shot. ROTJ:SE got messed with the least, but they had to go and mess up the song. The incredible new ending almost makes up for it.

The Twi-lek in the skimpy outfit singing backup is an improvement though ;)

I don't really like either, but Lapti Nek was more appropriate for the movie. Both pale in comparison to ANH's great cantina music. I do really like RotJ:SE's new ending song.

    Lapti nek,

    (.........repeats, fades...........)

    ((Partial English Translation))

    Feel my body growing
    My bones have started glowing
The time has come for showing
That I'll shape you up and work you out
    Lapti Nek
You've got to move your soul
You've got to feel the heat
    My body feels excitin'
    My soul is sythisizin'
    My whole frame is jumpin'
I'm workin' out and havin' fun
    Lapti Nek
Gotta move your body, Gotta move your feet
    Lapti Nek
Gotta move your feet as you walk the street
    Lapti Nek...
    Laptinek!! (Work it out)
