Thanks for the info Chanel! I guess I have to get working on my costumes again. I thought I didn't have to worry about them till next years Comic Con in San Diego. ;) I'll start a new thread on our forum down in SD about this (Our old thread got off-topic and I had to lock it [face_plain] )

I just got back from a one-day stay in Vegas and I managed to check out the Mandalay Convention Center. It's connected to the casino, looks really nice, and it's basically two floors of long long hallways, with white columns. Parking is $5 flat rate and it's open from early morning to about 1 am in the morning. There's a House of Blues as well as a club called the Rumjungle. As for food, there's a small food court-type place in the con hall itself, as well as a Mexican "cantina", and McDonalds is right across the street. They won't have info on shuttles to various casinos and the airport until it gets closer to the con date. Also, at FAO Schwarz at Caesar's there's a SW cantina complete w/ The Modal Nodes which I think we should have a private party. I'll look into it. That's it for today's installment of the FF "set diary..."

It turns out that the $18 fee for the Masquerade is to watch it OR participate in it too. Basically, if you want to participate, you go in and go sign up (I think).

I just got my pre-reg. via phone (1-866-36-COMIC) for $60. It includes a 3-day pass, ticket to the Masquerade, allows you to get in early every day of the con, a VIP goodie bag, and more; and I can actually pick it up Thursday instead of Friday! Woo hoo! I can't wait!

P.S. Pre-registration has been EXTENDED to Oct. 22!

As far as the costume contest is concerned : when you walk in with your costume during the party, the judges will give you number corresponding to a catagory you may qualify for. Later when the number is called, all those with that number will be sent to the stage to be judged by the audience.
