Las Vegas Fan Force Website

I got board last night so I figured I would do one of my favorite things in the world, design a web site. What better website to design than a Las Vegas Fan Force web site.

Take a look at it and tell me what you think so far.

I will be donating the server, space, bandwidth and time. If anyone would like to help out just let me know.

Looks great! I also can do alittle HTML, but if you need graphics, that it my specialty. Also, check out Phoenix's web site. They did this cool thing with a photo of Phoenix. I figure we could take a really neat picture of Vegas from Black Mountain!

What does everyone think of "Sin City Fan Force"?

 

Not bad so far but is it just me or is there like a delay happening as you scroll down on it? I like the Sin City Fan Force idea and how about superimposing a pic of Darth Maul with his binocs at night looking down from a mountain at a distant picture of the strip at night?

Ummm, I know we are based in Vegas but can we dispense with any las vegas refernces on the site. I dont think we should name our club, las vegas fan force, or sin city fan force, or high rollers with the force or anything like that. Lets just keep it Star Wars based.

 

Raith, pull the stick from your bum! Comeon, it's vegas! We should be proud of it. We live in the kickinest cities around!! I'm not talking about giving hotel registration and basketball odds or anything, but we should show off our town alittle and have some fun.

 

Have you checked out the names for other fan clubs? Most of them give you an idea as to where they are based on their name. Some even use city nick names. I think Sin City is great. Lets you know where we are without having to say Las Vegas.

 

I do not have a stick up my bum and the fact that all other cities incorporate their cities name into thier club name is one of the best reasons we shouldn't. Besides not all cities do. I believe Phoenix uses the title Tatooine Jedi Academy or something like that. It a Star Wars club not a gambling club and I for one do not have a pair of fuzzy dice hanging in my xwing

Sin City Fan Force or Sin City Rebel Alliance - anything with Sin City or Las Vegas is awesome. We live in Sin City - heck just thinking about it makes me want to drive over the hump and pay my donations to support the illusion - and we should not ignore it.
I do agree that we - or those with ties to the club (since I do not know if I am actually a member) - are a club supporting Star Wars. However Star Wars is more than four (soon to be five movies), a couple dozen books, and bunches of Comic Books. Star Wars has produced two Role Playing Games by West End Games (SW first and second edition) and its latest incarnation by Wizards of the Coast. The information provided in these Star Wars Roleplaying Games is considered "canon" in the expanded Star Wars Universe. Star Wars is more than the movie it was in 1979. More people in Britain responded to a relgious survey with "Jedi Knight" as their prefered belief system than they did for most conventional religions.
Star Wars is a Role Playing Game, A religious experience and whatever else you want to call it. I for one am interested in joining (this club), not becasue I want to hang out and talk with others that enjoy the hobby but because I also to find others that are interested in joining a SWRPG.
A Star Wars Group in Las Vegas should support all fans of Star Wars - no matter the reason we enjoy Star Wars.

I also think we should be more sw and less vegas name. Even though we say vegas ff it really is a nevada fan force since some people (such as myself) dont live in vegas.

My previous post was my first. I ran into someone here at Borders last week when I was picking up Solo Command and he has been pestering me to post on the boards here.
As you say, your not in Las Vegas. But I take it your in the vacinity of the Vegas Valley or somewhere thereabouts. I dislike the AZ groups name of Tatoonie FF. Sure it's hotter there than here and it makes a stretch of sense, but it is not easily recognizable. If you wanted something more Star Wars-ish - something like Vegas World Fan Force (since Vegas World is no longer in exsitance we are not extactly trying to promote some casino). Vegas World fits because of the various worlds in the Galaxy and it still gives us a "Las Vegas" feel. Or how about Booster Terrik's ships name (I've forgotten what it is off hand). It's a gambling ship. That covers all of Nevada (with the minor exception of Boulder City).

Hey Cyber, I'm the guy that been pestering you, Welcome to the forums and dont worry about your RPG desires, I think nearly everyone here wants to do that.

 

Ok....so since we don't all live in Vegas, then why use a "Vegas" type name. Let's be ORIGINAL people, Vegas is just where we live, not who we are. Come up with a name that means "Star Wars is the best thing since, well, everything" not a name that says, "Hey we are in Las Vegas, look, we're over here. Hello?" We know where we are and so does anyone who either comes to the meetings or finds us on the boards.

Ok I preached enough, but I think we should try something like...

"Praxium Fan Force" or...
"Echo Base" or...
Star Wars is better than anything on the planet! I bet my Jedi could beat up your Jedi... Oh wait... Sorry...

Well, I suggested "Bothan Spy Net" to DarthRaith, though we figured someone had already taken it... but I did, some research, and it looks like it's still up for grabs. I think we come up with a few, and vote... seems only fair. Besides, we don't even get to choose until we become a Fan Force, so we have some time to debate and brainstorm.

 

Ok, what about doing something like Bounty Hunters Guild-Sin City Division?

I really like the Sbbacc angle! But "Pure Sabacc" sounds kinda dumb. What about the Honest Imperial Sabacc House. Sounds like a seedy place you'd find Lando Calrissian.

 

No, I definitely dont like that one. Pure sabacc refers to a natural sabacc like a natural 21 or blackjack

 

I really like the Sabaac angle. Strangely enough it had passed thru my mind but I had no idea how to incorperate it into a name.

 

What about the Idiot's Array Sabacc Club?
