laser gun sounds.

I watch all these movies, and every laser weapon makes a zzzzzzzzzzzz sound, sound likes when you put a fork in the microwave. There must be some internal mechanism making this sound, but what?


EDIT: Oh, and not to mention, some of these weapons, you see light coming out of the barrel, and you hear a charging sound. As the sound gets louder, the light gets brighter. Then, when the light is realesed, the gun makes a zoing, or phew sound.
