This is another "thought you might find this interesting" thread. Last night about 8:30 I got a wild hair up my ummmm- Bantha, and decided to make a last minute mod to the Jango bucket to give it some pizzaz when I took it to the meeting with me tonight. Something I've been wanting to do but putting it off since it's a smaller project. So without further adeu, here is my Rangefinder LED project.

Visited Radio Shack at 8:30 last night with my Jango bucket[image=http://image57.webshots.com/157/4/10/29/440641029lpFDvz_ph.jpg]. The sales reps and a customer was wondering what planet I was from. The Shack guy was helpful but serious lacking in the sci-fi imaginative category. So I schooled him on McGivering various parts to do some customization. Bought this because it was the perfect size and had blue LED's ready to go.[image=http://image56.webshots.com/156/4/40/43/452844043KkKKzV_ph.jpg] Tore it apart as soon as I got home [image=http://image61.webshots.com/61/4/38/90/452843890hLOfKJ_ph.jpg] and installed the guts into my hallowed out rangefinder[image=http://image53.webshots.com/53/4/38/96/452843896RPaIpf_ph.jpg] Added a blinker module and viola[image=http://image53.webshots.com/153/4/41/41/452844141zMwwdZ_ph.jpg] Dremeled out a hole underneath for the switch[image=http://image54.webshots.com/54/4/42/46/452844246HZpZCh_ph.jpg] and battery housing[image=http://image51.webshots.com/151/4/46/8/452844608EeQfEs_ph.jpg]. Did a test run before final assembly [image=http://image50.webshots.com/150/4/40/57/452844057ZzCmxK_ph.jpg] and we're finished[image=http://image58.webshots.com/58/4/43/31/452844331PZLMCy_ph.jpg] except for weathering which happened in "The Garage" early this morn. See you tonight with it. Cheers, Lorenzo
