FF:NZ Latest Finds (part 5) :o)

It's been a while, but I finally found something new.

Dick Smith have got the latest computer game - Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds for Windows computers, $99.95.

They've also got the Harry Potter game for either Windows or PlayStation ($79.95 each).

 

I just got back from Manukau CC. Toyworld has lego B-Wings on sale for 49.95, down from 89.95.

Also, the Calendar Club has the large Star Wars 2002 calenders. The 'Art of' one is Episode one designs. The Collectors issue one is a Darth Vader tribute. A first I thought 'I don't know if I can stand looking at nothing but Darth Vader all year', but then I had a look, and some of the images are really cool. Both are 29.95.

 

i was in Electronic Boutique (or something) the other day and saw:

Force Commander
Grim Fandango
Indy and the infernal machine
X-Wing Alliance
W-Wing
etc

all for about $24.95 or $19.95 (i think they were the 19 price)

damn cheap - i think if i ever buy pc games ill wait a ew months and get them cheap as!

 

Yep, you can get them from the Warehouse for about the same price too.

In fact, some of the games now come in the awful white "Classic" boxes, and if you buy one of those you can send away for another game free - or something like that.

The real question is are we going to get any of the new waves/deluxe figures in the near future?

 

I just got my latest copy of the UK Star Wars magazine (a bit late - it was out over a week ago).

In this issue (Oct/Nov 2001) ...

• More Episode II "news" and photos (including a head-shot photo of Ewan McGregor and Jay Laga'aia in costume, and a photo of five Jedi toddlers)


• A long interview with Samuel L. Jackson (Mace Windu)


• A pull-out poster of Mace Windu


• A long interview with Silas Carson (Ki-Adi-Mundi, among other characters)


• A long Behind the Episode I DVD article


• A competition where first prize was the Episode I DVD, a 6ft Naboo Starfighter AND two 3ft Federation fighters!! But it was phone in and closed on 7 December
  (Imagine the shipping charges!!)

 

I found the OT Special Edition Widescreen videotapes in Ltd Edition silver box at Cash Converters in Newmarket for $20.

They'll sit nicely alongside my "regular edition" widescreed OT tapes.

I vowed I'd not buy any more Star Wars movies until the DVD release... but y'know, all 3 for a twenny, it was a steal.

 

For those of us still on the hunt for SW figures, its been pretty slow, but thanks to K-mart who are constantly bringing in POTJ's, I found a Leia Organa General and Dirty Biker Scout today at Riccarton. they also had some Sandtroopers, Dagobah vaders and boomer damage battle droids so keep an eye out!

Or have you just renamed Leia Organa (Bespin Capture) to confuse us all??

yes i did mean leia organa general, not leia bespin capture by mistake. there were 2 there, but Obi Jace has already claimed the other!

They were not available here as far as I know, and were very scarce even in australia. I've been told they have been "repacked" into a new case which includes Sandtroopers and battle droids, and the new "dirty" variation of the Scout trooper. Dont ask me how this case got to k-mart!

Looks like I know where I'm going ... a LONG drive out to K-Mart.

 

Nothing at my local K-Mart, just Anakin - Mechanic, boomer damage battle droid, Han Solo bespin capture and Obi-Wan. Nothing on sale either, apart from the lego X-Wing for $85.

But as far as I know, Star Wars insider is not available in NZ, even by subscription. Sad stuff.

cave trolls are $50 at the Warehouse. Quite a few stores have them here. I was out with my girlfriend, so shes getting one for my birthday. I dont get to play with it for another month!!

I still havent found a Strider yet... SFL, did you get one? if so, when and where?

 

IM getting my miniture battle game Cave Troll soon Its $32 and its only just over 2 inches high but when i get him i wont be able to put him togther because my pinvice drill bit broke and ill need to get a new one of them dammit
