To be honest I was going to make it as I never ever make threads, but i want to be able to find it so a mod is probably better for ease of finding it.

Much love to the Warriors also - two from two to start the season, the second being against the defendinng champs, and a match against the Melbourne Storm in Rd 3 at Olympic Park, the Melbourne home ground, where the Storm only lost one game all last season.

    Playing the Warriors. :D

Australia v Zimbabwe, Group B, ICC World Twenty20

    Super Zimbabwe stun Australia

    [image=http://content-nz.cricinfo.com/inline/content/current/image/310662.jpg]

It was a night to remember for cricket fans everywhere except for Australia. Zimbabwe played out of their skins, Australia looked rusty, and, after the drama of a rain delay with Australia ahead on Duckworth-Lewis, Zimbabwe, who had been wobbling when the rain hit, edged to a memorable, wonderful five-wicket win off the penultimate delivery. Two years ago to the day Australia lost the Ashes at The Oval. This game might have lacked the importance of that one, but it was a damn sight more embarrassing for them.

And lest anyone think this was a fluke, it was not. For almost the entire game Zimbabwe were, almost unbelievably, on top. Written off by everyone other than the ICC president, Ray Mali - the bookmakers had Australia at 50-1 on - they bowled sensibly, fielded like demons and, initially, batted with wisdom. A newcomer to Newlands might be thinking that they were the world champions and the side in the skin-tight yellow and grey lycra were the no-hopers.

    OK - big weekend!

The Cricket test is interestingly poised. If the NZers can get the last 4 Aussie wickets cheaply and then against all odds survive with one or two players anchoring the innings, we have a good shot of winning.

And of course the League World Cup final tonight. The stormy weather could be a leveler. Maybe this is one of those on-in-ten matches that the Kiwis actually win (unlikely, but possible).

excellent game, great result. looked like Australia were going to run away with it and could have been 16-0 up if not for Lockyer's fumble. some great defense, particularly on Folau a couple of times and a big lol @ Slater's brain fart.

    massive lol @ Australia

    just never mind the cricket....

On another note, nice to see the Tri Nation Rugyb Teams dishing out heavy whippings to the pretenders from the 6 nations in the last month.

    Southern Hemisphere FTW! [face_dancing]

NZ won the rugby. England got the Ashes back. Our Ice Hockey team beat Aussies for the first time ever.

Miss Australia fails to win Miss Universe...

Australia won 2 golds to 1 for New Zealand at the World Athletics championship.

Oh and if you get to brag about us losing cricket, New Zealand just lost to Sri Lanka by 202 runs as opposed to our 197 run loss.

    Yes I'm reaching.
