Given the emphasis on his healing ability throughout the series, I'm hoping that Cade loses all of his Force powers by healing the damage that the Sith did to the Ossus Project. A healer is what I think the Force intended for him to be, as opposed to him rationalizing that he's supposed to be the "Sith's worst nightmare." Coming to that conclusion right after healing Blue on Wayland (and Luke's comment on Cade's cluelessness in chasing Vul Isen :p) suggests that he's still doing what he wants to do as opposed to him actually doing the Force's will.

IMO, it would be a win-win situation if Cade loses his Force powers: the Jedi and the Felpire wouldn't have to worry about him falling to the Dark Side, Cade would be left alone since his Force powers are what concerns everyone who knows about him (including the Force ghosts) and he might finally grow up, no longer dependent on his Force powers to get him out of everything stupid he does (like using deathsticks). Besides all that, a de-powered Skywalker descendant would be an interesting change of pace.

Oh, and I'm hoping that the Yages defect to the GA as opposed to the Felpire. I don't think that there have been any Imperials defecting to the GA, even though there's at least one example of a former GA member joining an empire (i.e. Azlyn Rae).

Zadann: I can't believe it's ending and I was with it from the start. :_|

With two issues left now I have feeling everything in them will go right over my head. There's so much left to tie up and so much going on it seems like it'll be a mad rush or not well explained. I don't suppose there's much chance of issue #50 being double length to give more space to end it properly. I'm just hoping that the climax will be epic.

Does the Legacy era count as 40 something ABY ----> to Cade's time?

Well, it gets kind of confusing, because in terms of the neat little icons on the back of the profic, anything after the New Jedi Order series is called the "Legacy era"

But I do believe (and Trace can feel free to back me up on this, or call shenanigans if I'm wrong) that for the purposes of this Index "Legacy-era" fics must be during Cade's time (or close enough to it to be within that generation).

Woefully behind here [face_blush] but #50 is out now and those of us who didn't get the early copies at CV ( :p ) can discuss!

The "end of an era" indeed. :( Thank the maker we still have "War" to look forward to.

    Don't forget to highlight spoilers!

#50 was an enjoyable issue, if only because there wasn't any whining from Cade at all. :p

I liked Cade's involvement a great deal, but overall I thought it very lacking.

Well, I haven't got my issue yet, but it's just been released so it should arrive somewhen this week. :(

I'm curious though, in the back they always have a news blurb thing. Can someone tell me if there's any hint of another series picking up from the end of this one? If not then I'll probably see if I can have the rest of my subscription transferred to The Old Republic or something.

Still, I am sad that Legacy is over. No more Cade yumminess, or Blue, or anything! :_|

Nothing else Legacy related until December.

So with the wrap of the series(sort of:p ) who are the characters that each of us enjoyed the most over the last few years.

The darkest horse on my list is Vul Isen. I really didn't(and still don't) think a great deal of the One Sith, but Vul is the exception to this. He's not a Darth yet he proves to become the biggest One Sith threat to the galaxy by the end of the series.

He's an example to me of a character that John and Jan handled perfectly. He added a dynamic to this Sith Order that I felt was really needed and gave the heroes a clear villian to gun for.

Other notables for me are Gar Stazi, Jaius Yorub, Roan Fel and Treis Sinde, but in the end I think Vul Isen ends up standing out the most to me.

But then I imagine I'm the only member of the Vul Isen Fan Club, so who really stood out to you?

Like Rob mentioned, there will be a 6-issue mini-series starting in December that will conclude the Legacy series. YAY for the mini?BOO for the end. :(

I thought issue #50 was a fine conclusion to an arc, but nowhere close to wrapping up the story. Which brings us back to all the questions we?ve had about the Big Damn Cancellation vs. a Big Damn Marketing Ploy a.k.a. the general consensus of feeling jerked-around and What The HECK Was THAT Dark Horse?!?

?Extremes? was an exciting arc, but the heavy exposition was very distracting and awkward at times ? and I mean no disrespect to John AT ALL when I say that ? he only had 66 pages to (unexpectedly) conclude a 4-year ongoing story and I think he did a great job with it?it?s just something of a disappointing end because this series deserved SO much more respect and consideration for the creators from whomever decided to pull the plug. And that's about the nicest way I can think to say that. [face_peace]

Well, I adore the Mynock crew. ;)

Characters that took me by surprise in how much I enjoyed them: Darth Talon, Ganner Krieg, Bantha Rawk and family, Celeste Morne, Gar Stazi, Jhoram Bey and Gunn Yage.

And the woman I?d love to read a whole series about: Nyna/Morrigan. :D Cannot wait to see ?what she does (and what happens to her)? in War.

I thought it was a good end and nicely sets up the scene for War in December. Should be a good mini-series.

I feel like I didn't enjoy the "Extremes" arc as much as I normally would, because much of my thought-process reading it was occupied by "Hey, I wonder how they're going to end this." But the last issue ended well enough (I think) to take us into the mini-series, which hopefully is far enough out that it really will be able to tie up a few more loose ends.

I was a bit saddened by the lack of tie-up in #50. It was if we were dealing with a show's season ender rather than series finale. I was hoping Legacy: War would have more of a spin-off feel than just a continuation of an incomplete story... my two cents.

BUT, I am thrilled that we won't be cut off entirely. :)

Favorite characters after the Mynock crew: Nyna/Morgan, Rav, Gunn Yage (reminds me of Starbuck from BSG), Darths Maladi & Wyyrlok, and Ganner Kreig.

Although I liked Vul Isen, I thought he was too much of the One Sith's version of Demagol for me to get too attached to him.

Gunn Yage (reminds me of Starbuck from BSG)

Oh My God, yes! I wonder if John & Jan took any inspiration from Starbuck. I can't help but picture Katee Sackhoff when I'm writing Gunner.

Preview for War #1 is up!

    Nice montage with Krayt, there.

After reading karebear's fic, I'm feeling very aware of Bantha and seeing him with a lightsaber is way cool, even if it's a dream or vision or whatever.

    C'moooooon, Dec. 15th!!

The last post was about War #1 and it's all over now: @};-

I don't know if there are any Legacy fan peeps still around, but I thought I'd up this since we have reached the end. Without posting any spoilers yet, I thought it was an epic conclusion! Just enough of Good Guys Won but Bad Guys Are Still Around and the proverbial Riding Off Into The Sunset...

    Very ROTJ, I thought.

I know they've said that this is it, but I'm really hoping to see another Legacy story in the future, maybe a few years down the road. The Era that John and Jan have built is just too rich to leave uncharted.

Ooh, when did #6 come out? I just finished #5. Can't wait to see how it ends. Or, as you said, Trace, hopefully doesn't end. Although, if nothing else, we always have fanfic.

Whoa - looks like Krayt's not the only one to come back from the dead, Jedi Trace. I thought this thread was done and gone a long time ago.

I can't really say that Legacy: War had any shocking developments, given that it had to try and wrap up at least a few plotlines among the many that had proliferated during its previous 50 issues. About the only real surprise for me was that I ended up having some respect for Antares Draco, the former Imperial bootlicker. :p

All in all, I'd say #6 was a decent conclusion, but hardly a satisfying one, given all the dangling loose ends.

It came out two (or three?) weeks ago. I think you'll like it. ;) You'll have to post here and let us know when you've read it.

You and me both! This is what? The second time we've agreed on something? Dude. :D But seriously, I was very impressed with Draco in the end and I thought his scene immediately after killing Roan Fel was quite touching.

As the saying goes: It is what it is. They wrapped up all the MAJOR plot lines, which is a lot more than some creators get to do when their book gets cancelled. There are lots of loose ends, sure, but hopefully they'll be springboards for future stories and not get left dangling forever.

    We can hope, right? :)
