OOC: As best as I can tell, it does look like Wyl was following along, so Jasen's post stands. As well, for those that are new, here's is a general map of the ship:

    IC: Aden Kya

"Sometimes... we choose a side because we believe it to be the lesser of two evils, but to not to choose a side at all and sit by and do nothing because you disagree with the politics of either one is a far greater evil,"

Aden stared after Zem, ignoring the other, and felt his feet removed from under him. Rather than launching into an arguement about the two sides, weighing pro's and con's, Zem had gone beneath it, to the practical point; Aden had betrayed himself.

He recalled a speech made by Pellaeon, once, about non-involvement, about the Remnant, by mostly watching the Yuuzhan Vong invade the Galaxy, they had nearly caused the New Order's extinction and the practically brought about it's irrelevance. For it, Bastion and Muunilinst had been destroyed by the Yuuzhan Vong as a mere afterthought, according to the lessons he'd learnt from the Emperor.

There had been portions of the Jedi that had surrendered and joined the Imperial Knights after the war, in the gap between the Massacre at Ossus and the coup at Coruscant, short as it was. Aden had remained with some of those treacherous Knights and Jedi, and then left, as they were absorbed into Emperor Krayt's Sith Order completely. It had barely been a fortnight after the end, when it happened, and Aden had fled, running away from his Sith name.

Turning away, Aden started analysing himself as he went down the rungs. He heard the captain had returned, and with a newer crew member. That much he gathered from the scuttlebutt. One Corellian, Jasen. But Aden didn't really pay attention. He returned to his room, seeing that Li was still asleep. Crossing his feet, he dwelled on his position, carefully handling each side of the discussion.

The Sith Empire had brought an end to the horrendous machinations of the Moff Council, grabbing them in an iron grip firmer than any Emperor Fel had used. It had kept the Alliance offices intact, taking command of the Triumvirate that had been reknowned in the past for being brutal and as terrible as Palpatine under Darth Caedus, many decades ago.

The Empire-in-exile, however, before the terror of a Sith Order unleashed on the Galaxy, had been something more than effective. It had been noble, and honourable. It had brought peace to the Imperial domain, and spread it throughout the galaxy with the Imperial Mission.

Aden shook his head. But it had still been corrupted, and fell. Did the honour and nobility and peace matter? They brought order, yes, but had eventually failed, plunging the Galaxy into a war. A war about the Yuuzhan Vong shaping...the Sith version of order saw war, yes, but it was war with purpose - to bring more order to the Galaxy.

The Empire's war against the Alliance, no matter how noble the initial aims had been, was about one thing; power. Power to the Moff Council, and to the Emperor. Fel had sat, and watched the Galaxy fall into violence and terror, all while sitting in a web of politics as if frozen. There was no honour in keeping the Imperial Knights out of the war, preventing them from stopping the war becoming one filled with carnage and despair...

And so, Aden began looking inward, and reawakening what he had once been. But not too far. After all, he only wanted to go back to the end of the Sith-Imperial War...to the days when he had a Sith name....

OOC: I meant "keeping up" as in I was following Kraid's lead, in the whole lightheartedly messing with the guy, sort of deal. Of course, I see now that that doesn't make sense, but, if there's a general consensus that we're moving, i don't have a problem with that, either.

OOC: Alright then, so with GM-ruling and general concensus, all three of you are moving and on your way down to the lounge.

For the rest of you, start finishing up your posts and moving your characters to the lounge. I'll be posting the meeting post either tonight or tomorrow.

Has Arc Naru and Dak returned?

Artemis Z.M. Veers & Erik Derkin

    Fool's Gamble

The two Imperials atop of the Gamble finished welding shut the last of the panels before the started to clean up and climb back into the ship itself. Zem returned the welders back to the storage compartments in engineering before heading towards the Lounge. He had heard earlier when the Captain had returned that there was to be a meeting and everyone, passengers included, were expected to attend.

As he entered he let Kraid know that the panels were back in place before taking a seat at one of the tables. He propped his feet up on a nearby chair and tried to relax, waiting for the meeting to begin. Erik came over with two mugs of something cold and refreshing and handed one to his superior before sitting across from him.

Zem glanced over at the latest passengers, studying them for a bit before losing interest and starting a conversation with Erik about Fantasy Shockball.

    IC: Azul Hadrian and Peras
Greenhouse- Peras? Pharmaceuticals- Mos Eisley- Tatooine

The smell of formaldehyde was strong in the otherwise sweet scented air. On an examination nearby, a womprat, long preserved, lay back down with an incision unlong its belly. Peras had wanted Azul to first hand study the internal systems of a mammalian body instead of spending all her time wrapped up in literature. Washing up and getting your hands dirty was sometimes the best study aide there was in understanding the living body. She had just begun her examination of the rodent?s digestive system when the Captain had commed her and told her to pack her things up and say her goodbyes.

Azul sighed and turned, staring at the small rodent nostalgically before looking up at her tutor through lowered lashes. She studied him thoroughly memorizing everything from his face to his scent.

?I?? she cleared her throat and sighed ?Apparently we?ll be leaving quite soon, so I should pack up.?

The tall Ho?din sighed himself before smiling widely, matching his oily black eyes to hers and placing a long-fingered hand on her shoulder. ?You?ve done well under my make-shift curriculum these past few weeks, young Azul, and its been a pleasure to have the company. I hope you, too, feel that you have learned something.?

Azul smiled back, nodding her head calmly. She then placed her own hand over the Ho?din?s, looking up at him gratefully.

?Thank you so much for everything you?ve done for me. You?ve been a great tutor and friend, I don?t think I?ll ever be able to pay you back for all that you?ve done?

?Hopefully our time has been a balm for your tired soul as well, my dear.? Looking down at her face, old Peras continued to smile when a thought crossed his mind. ?Oh yes, that reminds me? while you gather your things, I have a present for you.?

Azul smiled up once more and stepped away to gather her belongings. She hummed to herself absently, as she often did as of late, making sure she didn?t leave anything behind before taking one last, long look around the Ho?din?s living quarters. She liked it here, everything form the sweet scent that perfumed the air to the colourful display of plants.

After a while the auburn haired human walked back to where her tutor was, fiddling nervously with the necklace around her neck. The black chord had been changed recently after it broke for the tenth time, but the small blue rock attached to it still glittered cheerfully as Azul fiddled with it.

?I hate goodbyes? she chuckled nervously.
?Remember, child, Ho'Din are not limited to their eyes and ears. We never forget our friends.? Spinning around, Peras revealed in his hands a small terra cotta pot with one of his flowers within it, the small, rose-like one with the crimson center that faded to white on its petals. ?To you, Azul, I give one of my Korliolis buds. I remember you admired them on your first day here and thought it would be a befitting gift for my student?s final day. Give it as much natural sunlight as you can, but being on a ship, that may be hard to come by. In that case, keep in under a UV light. Water it once daily and give it a dose of the feed on the recipe attached to the pot once a week.?

Azul stared at the flower in awe, reaching over to touch it gently, it?s sweet scent dancing around her comfortingly. Tears jumped to her eyes, but she smiled nonetheless, surprising herself by stepping forward and warping her arms around Peras, smiling despite her tears.

    ?Thank you? she whispered simply.

He said nothing in reply at first, merely wrapped one of his long arms around her as well and placed a hand on her head. After nearly a minute, he finally whispered down to her. ?You best be going, child. You don?t want to keep your Captain waiting.?

Azul nodded, her face still buried in the Ho?Din?s warm clothes. She looked up, smiling widely and gently stepping away, reaching up and taking her necklace off, placing it on his hand.

?Don?t think you?ll get rid of me so easily? she smiled, jokingly. ?I

He nodded at and thanked Zem and Erik for their work. Good; now the ship was in practically the same condition it was when Kraid boarded it.

Now, about that pest of a Corellian that wouldn't seem to leave Kraid, of all people, alone...

"Tell me, Mr. Jasen or whatever," Kraid said, not making eye contact, "how long have you been in the mercenary business, what work did you do, and who did you work for?"

Maybe it was a rival to Kraid's old group. That'd at least give Kraid an excuse in letting his fists fly. Like he'd do any damage. Oh, engineers have imaginations, too.

Tatooine, Mos Eisley, Docking Bay 91

Even if Millik didn't remember the docking bay which the Fool's Gamble, he would've found it soon enough one way or another; the museum piece would've been easily identifiable when Millik saw it as it was now as he stopped within the bay to inspect his transport like he had done before when he first saw the ship.

It wasn't the worst case scenario at least. Millik knew of older craft and, if anything, the Fool's Gamble seemed to be holding itself well through the ages. Well, that's what the outside appearance of the craft told him anyway. Inside may probably be another story.

Not going to find out by standing around here, Millik thought to himself and looked around. He didn't see anyone else in the docking bay and he didn't think Jav would forget about the deadline that he had given Millik. If anyone was around, they were probably inside, which Millik now decided to check as he planted his feet onto the landing ramp and made his way up into the ship.

"What group was I in? Boy, who have I not been with? I'm a freelance, so I'm not with a particular group per say. Before this job, I worked with some people who liked the Sith a little too much. Got out of that fast. But the group I learned from the most was a group of smugglers who we're from all different sides of the galaxy. We didn't really have a name, but we tried to live up to Marrick's Mercs. Don't ask me who Marrick is...a Duros, like our captian. He founded the group in the Rebellion era...but our captian would tell us the tales of Marrick and his crew. Really inspiring."

Jasen nodded. Marrick's Mercs. Jasen turned, looking at Kraid.

"You never answered my question, prancer. You got a loved one?" Jasen asked.

IC: Captain Jav Boran and S2-56G
    Fool?s Gamble

Marching down the corridor like a man on a mission, Captain Jav Boran, accompanied by his droid co-pilot and assistant S2-56G, quickly made his way away from the bridge and, within a minute, had made it to the cargo bay and the lounge within. Kraid, Wyl and Jasen were still together talking in one corner, while nearby sat Sinya, Zem and Erik with Azul, Ryelee and Vitch nearest the viewscreen. Glancing over, the Captain saw Arc Naru standing in the entryway of the ship, which caught him by surprise. ?Oh, well, this is a surprise, Arc. I was going to come see you when I was done here but you might as well come in, have a seat and hear what I have to say. Zem, you can fill Dak in when he returns from his errand. Now then, Vitch, if you?ll turn the viewscreen off please??

With its long arm, the Amani complied to the Captain?s request and shut the viewscreen and the new program being displayed on it off. Back and forth the Captain began to pace in front of his crew for nearly a minute before finally speaking up.

?As many of you know, some wonderful police officers visited the ship earlier? to see me. Apparently I had a date with Governor Valarian that I was unaware of and they escorted me to Mos Entha in their shuttle. So it turns out, by one way or another, the Governor came into possession of video footage of many of us sneaking through Mos Eisley?s streets two weeks ago during the curfew and then members of our crew in a Police Hover Truck that was stolen that day, by yours truly, to help get our parts back to the ship. With this evidence in hand, the Governor presented me with two options: either we help her with a favor or we all end up in jail for an undetermined amount of time while the ship gets impounded.?

With a sigh, Jav paused and paced a little bit more before speaking again. It was obvious he did not relish what he was about to say. ?With only one option to choose, I agreed to aid the Governor in her request. Apparently several days ago, the Tuskens started an assault on the outpost of Arnthout near the old capital of Bestine. We were to go in, aid the defense of the city in whatever way we can and then evacuate the citizens if need be. I did not say this to the Governor, but I?ll tell you this now: I do not plan to get this crew involved in their war. We?ll help out where we can, we?ll evacuate the people there, but we will not get involved in an extended conflict. With that in mind, if the ship?s up and ready to go, we?ll be leaving Mos Eisley in thirty minutes for Arnthout. I?ll ask my crew to be ready and armed for action by the time we lift off but as for our passengers, I?ll ask you all to remain in the ship for the duration of the conflict. You did not come on this ship to fight a war. You came here for passage and I won?t involve you in my troubles any more than you need to. Now then, are there any questions??

    He's here.

Aden's eyes rippled open, as his subconcious yanked him from his meditations, himself falling out of his sitting position and disturbing Lip who woke with a start. Standing, Aden quickly took Li up into his free arm, keeping, as ever, his blaster arm available. Li gurgled, unamused at being woke up so. Aden pushed a smile onto his lips, and spoke. "Good nap?"

    "Short."

"I know, Li, I know. There's someone here to see us, I think."

Li narrowed his eyes, dwelling on that. "You think?"

"Yup," Aden chuckled, amused at that. No matter how dark and angry Aden was, there was no doubting a child could light any disposition. Even a Barabels, he'd wager.

"Strange Aden." Li pawed his face, and looked very serious for a moment. "Very strange Aden."

He smirked. "Come on, you." Aden strode from his room, towards the cargo bay and the lounge. Who was here? His own voice had woken him, as if speaking from a dream. Leaning on the doorway, he watched the Captain stride back and forth, probably unaware he was there. Aden pressed a finger to Li's lip, who, in typical toddler fashion, started sucking on it. The ex-Imperial Knight would have rolled his eyes, if he hadn't been looking at the gathered crew.

He listened to the Captain, his eyes shifting to the Imperials as he unveiled he had been escorted away. Aden had been right, the Duros had been detained. It was then he saw Arc Naru, and Aden knew who he had sensed. He'd been able to sense Arc use the Force beforehand, but hadn't recieved a nudge with it. That meant his powers were starting to return. But he couldn't conciously use them, and remained cut-off from them. Invisible and impotent. For now, anyway.

Hearing they were now the Whiphid's lackeys, Aden cleared his throat and walked into the room, propping down on the floor, placing Li between his crossed legs. "Why don't we just run? Valarian is likely to inform the Sith Empire about us anyway, even if we do her bidding for a bit. She fought a Hutt for control here once, didn't she?"

He was only a passenger, but he had a voice. Until Muunilinst. Then again...something started to form in the back of his mind. His Sith voice, that dark and horrible one, the one which spoke when ever he grew angry, echoed, and something fell into place.

Aden was going to stay on this ship for a bit longer than Muunilinst. He'd ask the Captain the first chance he got. He could pilot, he could fight - well for a mortal - and he had experience with Imperial mechanics. He'd find a place on this ship for him.

    He would indeed.

    Fool?s Gamble

?Well, if I remember my history, Valarian used to be a major competitor of Jabba Desilijic Tiure back during the Galactic Civil War, but over time, as the civilized government left Tatooine and this war started up and the Hutts left this sandball to die, it would assume Valarian took the reigns of control for herself. In fact, there?s only one Hutt left on Tatooine, ironically also a Desilijic Tiure, but from what I?ve heard the Governor has him under her heel.? Pausing in his circuit, Jav turned and looked down towards Li and Aden, the two he had almost forgotten were on the ship. ?I don?t believe Valarian would turn to the Sith. She finally has this planet to herself and I doubt she?d want to draw the attention of one of the big majors back here. Besides which, this ship and none aboard it doesn?t have a bounty on them from the Sith, as far as I?m aware of.? Of course, this was only partly true. Veers and his men had been pursued by Sith agents, but there had yet to be a formal bounty placed on their heads. Most likely the Empire wanted to keep their capture ?in the family.? As well, no one on the Gamble had a bounty on their head, save for the one that had been on Ryelee but that had been taken care of. While they had been stranded, he had had S2 check the Bounty-nets for the names of anyone on the ship or for the ship itself and had so far found nothing. Hopefully it would stay that way. ?Anyway, if we do try to jump ship I have no doubt Valarian herself would put a bounty on our heads, besides which, though I don?t want to get involved in their war, I have a? well, a personal belief that one should give aid to the unfortunate and the troubled whenever it?s in one?s power. I may be a mercenary, but I do have principles.?

Looking over the crowd again, the Captain matched each of their eyes slowly. ?Well, any more questions??

There are no bounties on me?

Aden considered that, for a moment, and then tossed aside the thought. Fel was probably cash-strapped, and wasting credits on bounty's wouldn't be worth it. Not when he had his own private wing of assassins in the Imperial Knights.

Aden's mood soured even further, and Li looked up at him, doing that psychic-child thing that kids always seemed to do when they're young. Aden winked at him, and Li slowly turned away. Looking back up, Aden nodded.

"Okay. I agree with that. We should do what we can, but I was just fielding that idea." It was lost on Aden that he was slipping into old modes quickly. Aden Kya, the Sith, would never have taken up a child as his own, he would have used it as a pawn and dumped it on some inhospitable world. Aden Kya, the Imperial Knight, would have saved Li, and took him on.

Aden, however, turned his eyes on the others, waiting for them to add something.

    The Imperials

    Fool's Gamble

One problem right after the other seems to pile ontop of them. Solve one and two more popped up. In fact that is what had happened. They solved the problem of repairing the ship, now they have to deal with this dustballs governor and her threats of arrest if they didn't do what she wanted. The other problem, Zem had and would have to inform the captain of soon but in private. The Imperial cast his gaze away from the Duros as he thought about both problems. The latter he couldn't solve. He didn't have the credits to pay up what he owed and this Tirbit wasn't about to give up what is due to him.

The former he probably could provide some advice and experience to. Although he had a total defeat with his last mission not due to any tactical blunder on his part, but to betrayal and trusting an agent he should have realized was a traitor, he's had victories before that brought him to where he was now. A Colonel in the Imperial Stormtrooper Core and a commander of the 501st Legion.

The Colonel glanced back at the Duros and asked; "What kind of weapons should we expect from the Tuskens exactly? Anything that can be a threat to this ship perhaps?"

So I?ve heard from the locals, besides their sticks and slug throwers, they?ve been using more modern blasters and some say even explosives they?ve found in the raided settlements. My plan is to fly the ship over the battlefield to get a handle on the layout of the battle and then park the ship as far as we can from the combat and the Tuskens, to provide the easiest path of escape for the people stuck in Arnthout.?

When he had finished, he merely stood there and waited, sure someone else would have something to add.

Guess Jav wasn't expecting him afterall. Despite being said to take a seat, Millik instead just stood where he was, putting his hands in his jacket pockets as he listened to the bit of bad news which only soured Millik's good mood. Well, the closest thing he had to a good mood anyway. Great, basically his transport got screwed over with a bit of blackmail which made Millik rethink about finding another transport. If there was one thing that was bad to be on, it was a ship and a crew that just got busted in to do some dirty work, especially to someone like the likes of Valarian.

But Jav's explanation of why she wouldn't give them up to a Sith made sense to Millik...though the part of no one having a bounty on their head just almost made Millik grin but he managed to fight the instinct to do so. While there wasn't a bounty on Millik specifically, there was one on his "kind", even though Millik didn't count himself as one of the Jedi anymore. Course, he didn't think the Sith would be so understanding about that. Besides, if Jav was what Millik thought he was, then perhaps the captain knew how to hide himself as well as a ship which was something that Millik needed and kept him with the idea of staying on the Fool's Gamble.

Besides, this bit of dirty work was only going to have Tuskens involved and how bad could they be?

Millik did, however, can't help but ask with an impatient tone, "How long is this going to take and when can we get off this planet?"

Ryelee walked into the lounge, his clothes stained with oil and the Force knew what else, and blowing tenderly upon his small, aching hands. He had been working for two days straight -this having been his choice of course- and the ship was finally ready to get going. Of course Kraid knew this, and Rye decided he?d rather sit quietly as the man looked less than friendly at the moment.

Azul walked into the lounge after dropping her stuff in the room she shared with the other crew members. Her usually pale skin was tanned by the Tatooine suns, and she looked more calm and cheerful than she had when she joined the ship.

And she would be twenty in exactly five hours ten minutes. Twenty! That was huge! Two decades alive, seven years of living on her own?

Arms were around her soon enough, pulling her out of her thoughts? and staining her clothes with whatever Rye?s hands were covered with.

?You?re back!? the boy grinned cheerfully, sitting comfortably beside her.

?So it seems? I thought you had nothing to do with the engines, where did all the oil come from?? Azul asked, staring at her clothes with a sigh.

?Yeah but they needed a hand so?? Rye fell quiet as soon as Jav walked in.

Both siblings listened to the captain and to their fellow crew members. Realizing there was no way out of it, Azul sighed heavily and rubbed her temples.

?Well Captain, if you want to leave in thirty minutes as you have stated.? She started, in complete acceptance ?We should check out supplies. Medical supplies are great, I made sure of that on our first week here, but that?s not all we need? she stated, looking up at the Duros, chewing on her lip thoughtfully ?How long do you think this might take??

They tried blending in, and we're doing great at it...but they didn't fool Jasen. He then noticed another man...and a baby? Oh great, a crying baby. Corellians really love thier sleep. The man with baby though...there was something about him. Something strange, something he couldn't put his hand on it.

Their mission was clear. Jav didn't want them involved in the battle, and just helping the civilans escape. Jasen raised his hand.

"How many people are in the city? We might have to take more than we are prepared for. If that happens, we'll have to leave some behind while we drop the others in a safe location, right? If it comes to that, I'll stay behind with the civilans until we get them all out of harms way. And if we have any snipers, we would need them posted I would think. Not directly in the battle, but around the ship. Might as well pop a few tuskens from the distance while getting the civilans on." Jasen shrugged.

OOC: Sorry, Dingo but you do not know that my men are Imperials based on their posture considering that they have been sitting relaxed the entire time. Secondly, they've been with this crew long enough and under Kraid's sarcasm and disapproval to have gotten rid of any back straight sitting. Now walking, you might catch them on that BUT you'll only perceive them to be military. Not Imperial. The Alliance is still around and there are enough para-military organizations out there that they could be from any one of those too.

OOC: Sorry about that, i didn;t think it would make any difference to the story and it certianly didn't hurt any of your characters. I didn't think it was a big deal. But I changed it, so there will be no problems.

OOC: Actually it does. Maybe not now, but later on it can. If its not plainly obvious that someone is something or its not mentioned aloud in character, then a person's character shouldnt know something about another character. They aint Tirbit the Rabbit who is the all knowing, all seeing informant. Heh.

    Zem and Erik

    Fool's Gamble

Zem glanced over at one of the newer passengers and countered the man's suggestion with his military input. "No one should be left behind because we may not get the chance to come back for you and then your bantha fodder. No. We have an advantage over the Tuskens and we should use it. So long as they do not have any ground-to-air artillery we will be fine. I suggest we go into the city and assuming there is a large enough area for us to hover a few feet above ground, we can quickly pick up civilians without having to land at all and use the guns to provide covering fire against any Tuskens in the immediate area."

    OOC: Alright, my bad.

    IC: Jasen

Jasen shook his head, trying to understand.

"But what if there are still more people waiting to be rescued? We can't just leave them there to die, can we? Those people deserve to live as much as we do. If there are more, I won't leave them behind. I don't know about you, but I don't think I could live with myself if I knew I just left people to die." Jasen said. Hopefully things wouldn't come to that. Hopefully. Maybe the Captian knew how many people they would be taking, maybe not.
