Entering the Dining Facility, Temple of Light, Saridona Prime

"Well, no one has tried to blow it up in the last decade, so there is that." Rosana nodded quietly as Zekk the binjinphant continued to sit upon her shoulder.

Yeah, this gal seemed like the type to not be messed with. She could tell by her voice. But then again, Rosana was never one to judge a book by their cover. The Temple did seem like a safe place. But there were people who were different in personality, which wasn't a bad thing. Rosana felt that the people had good intentions but she still wanted out.

Could definitely use a drink and relaxing time right about now...

"I'm Elle, Padawan to Knight Gim. And you are?" Rosana glanced over at the young woman named Elle and nodded with a grin. "Cool. Name's Rosana. I think I'm gonna like it here," she added while gazing at the sight of the Dining Facility. The only thing on her mind was eating. And escaping.

Vanora gazed sympathetically at Cora. She could tell the other had just felt a dip in mood. She nodded graciously at the other's desire to be alone for a while. "It was very nice talking with you." Vanora said and moved to a table near the windows facing the garden.

"Yes please, take me with you. protect me from the wrath of my master and I'll do anything." The normally cool and collected pilot seemed less so. His eyes darting around looking for something a bit of sweat beading on his forehead, and not from the podrace they'd just gone through. The vagabond knight didn't move as the junker pod he lept from descended through the ceiling, quiet the entrance for the Kage. But, Rak didn't miss the look a dread as the racer came in. There was only fear, fear of this master. Something to look into.

"Well," Rak said with a smile coming closer, "We are in the business of protecting people from darker forces." He crouched down calling on the Force to move the control console while doing his best to immobilize the broken leg. "There," he said letting the injured man get free or helping him if he needed. "Now, how about we get a move on yes...don't want this master of yours to catch up with us before we are ready."

Rak couldn't help himself, things were going well. They had captured their target without bloodshed and may have found a link to a much deeper conspiracy, just another day for the wandering knight.

Putting on of Erso's arms over his shoulders Rak steadied him and took the weight off the mangled limb.

"I have some rudimentary medical equipment back on my ship. Shouldn't be too hard to put your leg in a splint. Should hold until we get you to a hospital or, and equivalent there of." This time his smirk was hiding something. He had no intention of bringing this man back to the Temple of Light. If he could be tracked by this Master, said Master could find their way to the Temple. Rak would not be responsible for another incident like ten years ago. Too many were lost, and he would not have more blood on his hands. His fingers briefly brush the amethyst around his neck.

    No more blood.

Port Authority Pod Racing Track (PAPR Track), Port Pixelito, Malastare

Racing into the warehouse after his wayward co-pilot Knight Sodi was looking for either a fight or an investigation site with smeared remains. Instead he found his fellow Jedi promising aid and helping to free the man. Staying where he was in the pod he simply raised an eye at the whole thing as he looked around the warehouse, listening and feeling whatever the place offered without extending himself out into it actively. If there were holo-cams or other surveillance he wanted to note it, if trouble was coming he wanted to feel it without tipping off that he knew. His Master Trevalus had paranoid about such things, then again living through a purge that killed your master infront of you was bound to make one nervous, and then living in hiding under that oppressive rule out in the open made you either good or dead.

As a Kage Warrior he learned some of that with the ever looming threat of the technologically superior foes of his homeworlds people. Still, one was one thing, this was another. Here they had to worry about evidence, and enemies that would make this Erso look like child playing with chance cubes instead of peoples lives.

"Load him up if we're helping him oddball. I already missed the race, I don't want to miss the ship home." he simply stated. Of course Erso, well he could be left off the ship at any time between here and there, whether there was a planet or not.

Skyla curled her fingers around the pen that would choose what name she would use for the rest of her life. A giant wookie sat across from her, and gazed at the three documents. There were three blanks that would need to be initialed. Starting with a looped “s” and closing with a “y” with a long tail, Skyla finished writing her signature one by one. She never really used her last name when she was told to initial something. Rather, she just wrote “Sky” in cursive. It was nothing special. Actually, it was rather simple compared to some of the other Jedi’s signatures.

After finishing initialing the papers, Skyla leaned back in her seat and clicked the pen. She didn’t really feel like explaining why she was changing her name, or why she was using a fake one in the first place. Instead, Skyla got up to leave. The wookie rose to escort her, but another Jedi entered the room. Skyla nods as she recognizes the Jedi.

“Neverending paperwork I see?” Knight Lotasi grinned at Skyla.

“Yeah, just something I needed to fill out. I’ll be on my way now.” Skyla replied.

Knight Lotasi began to speak about a runaway droid. That caught Skyla’s attention.

“Do you have any idea where Jinx might be?” Skyla asked the concerned Knight.

    GM Update

    IC: Knight Reese/padawan Isabella/Big X (NPCs)
    En route to Saridona Prime

"...Big X, would you be willing to submit to a full scan of your programming, give us a chance to make sure you're not any kind of spy or mole with espionage subroutines to infiltrate us?" The droids's face remained naturally impassive at the request, giving the Jedi no further indication of it's thought process, though did slowly start move it's head from side to side, either indicating a negative response or perhaps just processing the moment.

The Ongree raised an eye stalk inquisitively.

"It would be for the best," The droid stopped and looked to Knight Nosrep. His photoreceptors seemed to blink for a moment. Just as The Jedi had no choice really in bringing him to the Jedi Temple, so too he really had no choice in allowing the Jedi their scan. It made him uncomfortable, he had made many alterations to his own programming that the Jedi might find...curious, but they were a part of what made him, him.

"I will comply with your scans, but scans only. I don't want to lose any parts of myself, so no reprogramming and no adding new programming to my matrix." The droid nodded somewhat as Knight Nosrep went on. "In the end it will be up to the council what to do with you. If we can receive assurances that your motives are pure, I see no reason you can't stay. I'm sure we can find a place for you among our staff." That seemed to brighten Big X's "mood" as he straightened back his shoulders and seemed to stand taller in the compartment. "It will be a mutually beneficial arrangement I assure you." Still it seemed that was something else bothering the Jedi.

"Won't Professor Solo miss you though? If he comes looking can you assure us there is no way he can trace you?" Big X gave a droid equivalent of a laugh at that. "He will miss me in ways he assuredly doesn't know yet, but if he is anything it is eminently adaptable. He will overcome." The droid paused for a moment as if deep in thought, then the moment stretched for a few additional seconds as a low whirring could be heard emanating from the droid. Finally he spoke again. "My own internal diagnostics show no evidence of any sort of tracking device or algorithm. I doubt Professor Solo will even try to search for me, his interests lie beyond a simple old droid such as myself, but even had he the desire, he lacks the means."

Knight Reese, still tired but alert looked to his fellow Jedi to get some sense of their disposition, though the droid's final disposition was of course at the discretion of the Council. An alert from forward caused him to head back to the cockpit where he strapped himself in before calling back.

"We're home everyone, strap yourselves in I'm going to bring us out of hyperspace."

Main hanger bay, Temple of Light, Saridona Prime

The Mandalorian and the Spy (Knight Grersk Duy'leh) had waited for The General (Master Hector Zey) and the Commissioner (Knight Kassokay Nuro Acyk) to leave the bay before continuing on their discussion of what was to be done regarding their lost source of intelligence from Coruscant. "We'll need a skilled slicer, and someone who can get us into the Naval HQ..." Taab was going through the checklist of what would be required but the Spy wasn't worried about that, not yet.

"We have to convince the Council first that the mission is even worth it. How often has information from Coruscant proven useful?" Taab nodded along with the Bothan who already sensed his answer. "Well then, how often has it proven vital?" Taab's mood soured considerably. Not once had the program provided anything of great significance. "That's what I thought," the Bothan's mood matched Taab's now.

"Master Rand and Master Alyn will no doubt question the need for a dangerous mission, one that runs the risk of exposing us, will be worth it then." Taab scowled behind his T-Visor. He had butted heads rather frequently with Master Rand. "The Commissioner can mitigate those risks...if he checks out. The timing of his arrival is rather convenient." Taab added thoughtfully as the the Spy bared his fangs in a smile at Taab's nickname for the newly arrived former detective. "He seems to have Master Zey's trust already, I am sure the Council would sense any untoward motives he has for us." Taab nodded again, that area of the vetting process was something he always left to the Council, they had rather more tools in the chest than he did for discerning the level of trust accorded to new members. "The trick will be convincing Master Runa, if we can..." he was interrupted by a buzz from the comm link in Taab's buy'ce (helmet)

"Boss," the signal came in from the TCC. "We've got another incoming shuttle, looks like the Lux has returned from Eventide." Taab looked to the Spy thoughtfully. "Have them put down here, I'll debrief them personally." Taab sent back as he made sure his armor's systems were fully ready. If Al'kesh had brought back those creatures from that world, then perhaps the Lux was doing the same. It was several assumptions, but Taab wanted to be ready. He explained the situation to the Spy as the J-1 type shuttle plunged through the atmosphere of Saridona Prime, before arriving at the hanger bay a few minutes later. A friendly, if tired, wave from Knight Reese in the cockpit eased Taab's tension somewhat as the boarding ramp lowered and the Jedi slowly emerged...

    IC: Chif Erso (NPC)
Port Authority Pod Racing Track (PAPR Track), Port Pixelito, Malastare

"Well," The first racer said with a smile as he moved closer. "We are in the business of protecting people from darker forces." He crouched down and moved the console off of Erso with the Force. "There," he said allowing Erso to slowly move himself out from his own wrecked speeder, using the force to keep his broken leg together. "Now, how about we get a move on yes...don't want this master of yours to catch up with us before we are ready." The mention of Erso's master caused a wave of panic to go through him, and he lost control. no longer able to put any of his weight on his injured leg he collapsed to the ground.

"I have some rudimentary medical equipment back on my ship. Shouldn't be too hard to put your leg in a splint. Should hold until we get you to a hospital or, and equivalent there of." Erso grimaced in pain and nodded eagerly at the thought of medical attention, though through clenched teeth he whispered loudly. "No hospitals. My master will find me there, and even you won't be able to protect me."

The second racer, the one newly arrived in with their pod had a suggestion at that. "Load him up if we're helping him oddball. I already missed the race, I don't want to miss the ship home." Grasping a piece of wreckage from his pod and using it as a cane Erso slowly moved towards the racer's pod. "A ship, yes a ship. Get me away from this place and the wrath of Darth S..." He froze suddenly as a sense of immanent danger overwhelmed him, surely the Jedi could feel it too. Too late he began to throw himself to the ground even as a projectile, no bigger than his own thumb, struck his head at nearly the speed of sound. There was no sound to the shot, no sense of where it had come from, but the effects were immediate. The round impacted just over his right eye before passing through the entirety of his skull, leaving a gaping exit wound at the back of his head. Quite dead already though, Erso of course felt none of this as he fell to the ground wordlessly in a heap.

"Never ending paperwork, I see," Knight Iotasi commented, grinning as she did so. “Yeah, just something I needed to fill out. I’ll be on my way now.” Skyla replied. as Lrowoco responded with another wookiee chuckle. He was about to start barking on about it being the only constant in the universe when the Mirialan launched into her own concern.

"So my little troublemaker of an astromech has decided to go rogue or something while I was away, and I need to find her before Jinx, I don't know, tries to disassemble a security droid or some other important piece of equipment." She took a breath. "I'd prefer Jinx not get blasted, but a memory wipe is more than due. Unfortunately, since it's my droid, she's sneakier than a defel at night. I was hoping there might be some holocams around the temple that might have picked her up, or if you have any other thoughts on how to track a droid in this place." She glanced to Knight Ash in case as Lrowoco chuckled again.

"Well we best find that little droid of yours before the commander does, you know how he feels about droids." The wookiee chuckled again. Commander Taab didn't hate droids, he certainly wasn't above using them for instance to augment Temple security, but he didn't have much respect for them either. The Mandalorian was liable to blast Jinx on sight if he heard about the droid's extracurricular activities, and not necessarily with an ion stunner either.

“Do you have any idea where Jinx might be?” Knight Ash now asked, and the wookiee looked to Knight Iotasi. If she knew surely she would have started there before coming here. "We do have holocam footage of course throughout the Temple now," it was one of the first upgrades Taab had completed after the Sith invasion a decade ago, updating and ensuring the existing holocam system was in good working order, "but if he is as sneaky as you say I doubt we'll find much on them." The First Sergeant shrugged his massive hairy shoulders. "Any idea what your droid is up to? Might help us to localize our efforts without putting the Temple on alert, and more importantly, not alerting the commander."

    Temple of Light, Saridona Prime

"I'll be glad to provide my expertise of Coruscant to you, Master Zey," the orange Twi'lek fell in beside Master Zey as they left the hanger deck, as well as Commander Taab and Knight Duy'leh to their own duties. The grizzled old Jedi Master led the newly arrived Knight through the twists and turns of the well lit Temple, sure that his investigator's mind was memorizing the route.

"May I ask you a few questions, Master?" Kassokay turned his head as Master Zey inclined his own in agreement. "How long have the Guardians of Light been here on Saridona Prime, and when did they first appear in the galaxy?" The Jedi Master mulled that one over thoughtfully for a few moments before answering. "The Guardians have been here, it seems forever, though of course that isn't the case." He smiled gregariously. "Our current incarnation have only been here for the last decade or so, before that the Guardians were founded by a group of Jedi who opposed the Vongforming of Republic worlds." He grimaced at the thought now, "They foresaw how it would lead to death and destruction, though not perhaps the exact nature of the war that followed." He grimaced again. His own former padawan and beseeched him to not go along with the Jedi Council in supporting the Vongforming that had been the catalyst for war. he had ignored her warnings and now she was gone. Afterwards of course he had been quite active during the Sith-Imperial War before following the Force here to Saridona Prime only to find an empty Temple and then his own capture at the hands of the Rakatan remnant. "The Temple itself though seems very much older than that, not ancient by any means, but certainly not constructed in the last few decades." He shrugged. The mysteries of the past generally didn't interest him, he was always more focused on the present, and the immediate future.

"Ah here we are," he motioned Acyk into the dining hall, surprised to see several other Jedi there during what would be considered off hours.

Padawan Elle almost returned Rosana's smile as she introduced herself. There was something off about her, something she wasn't revealing that was bothering Elle. Or perhaps it was just a reflection of Elle's own personality. Looking around the Dining Hall she supposed the feeling could also be emanating from Knight Cora. Apprentice Vanora had been sitting with her when they walked in, but now she was moving to another table. Elle pursed her lips, wondering what that was all about. "C'mon, let's get a table and then see if we can bother Cookie," she pointed to the serving droid that was somehow giving them a disparaging look despite his fixed facial features, "enough to make us some omelettes."

He was somewhat surprised to see Taab greet them, though dismissed that thought a second later. the council must surely be busy. It was likely some of the teams weren't even back yet. He nodded at the Mandalorian, before speaking in a serious tone. "It is a certainty Al'Kesh stopped at Eventide before returning here. We encountered those same creatures while there. I scanned my datapad, giving my mission report one last editing pass, before transmitting it to Reese. I had included every detail I thought might possibly be of interest, so hopefully I'd be able to minimize the post-mission debrief and get back to work on my own projects. The crystals and control systems from Mola's lightsaber were just what I needed... well, those and a few other odds and ends I was sure I had seen lying around in the scrounge pile of the maintenance hangar.

Semajj was already down the ramp and talking to the brass. He was always good at that sort of thing.

"Come on, Big X, time to meet your new neighbors. You got the thing? I feel better with you carrying it than any of us; can't imagine it would affect a droid like it does us. You don't hear it... whispering to you... do you?"

Gim and Isabella were dragging themselves out of the shuttle. I kept an eye on them in case they'd need help, or in case they got any foolish ideas about not going to visit a Master Healer right away.

"No hospitals." Erso replied drawing a smile from Rak, "My master will find me there, and even you won't be able to protect me."

"We will do our best." Rak wasn't a doctor but, there was a medical backpack onboard the Vagabond. He might have some equipment to help with the leg. He continued to support the man as they made their way to the exit. With one hand he lifted his jacket to his shoulder, he'd need to move his stuff to another coat. Of course he had several on his ship just in case something happened to one of them. Though they often were of a different color.

"Load him up if we're helping him oddball." Another toothy grin from the knight as they made their way. "I already missed the race, I don't want to miss the ship home."

    "Maybe next time." Rak replied.

"A ship, yes a ship. Get me away from this place and the wrath of Darth S..." the smirk deepened the faded just a quickly. He felt it too, danger, deadly intent. His hand reached for his saber calling 'Beacon' to his hand. Before he could do anything the bullet impacted doing it's deadly work in short order leaving the back of the man's head a bloody mess. Rak dropped with the body moving to cover. He looked at the body trying to follow the trajectory. He drew 'Guard' and took cover not activating his sabers.

"Did you happen to see where that shot came from?" he asked his companion. It was curious a projectile weapon, when lasers were so much more efficient. The bullet if it survived might give a clue or something. The fact he didn't hear the shot, or couldn't place where it came from, bothered him. It showed skill, preparation, and access to technology, older technology. He again following the path of the deadly projectile he looked to find where the bullet ended up, seeing if it was still in one piece.

There were clues to gather, and not much time. Though the first to deal with was the shooter.

"Well we best find that little droid of yours before the commander does, you know how he feels about droids." Lrowoco certainly had a penchant for understating, though after the mission with Taab she doubted the man liked anyone. Or anything. Maybe a flamethrower and explosions. Maybe I'll get him some grenades for life day...

“Do you have any idea where Jinx might be?” The other Knight chimed in, and Liuna was brought back to the moment. Life day gifts would have to wait.

It was certainly a good question. She had some idea...

"There were some parts in my quarters that I think Jinx scrounged up while I was gone. Looked like an upgrade, I've given her a few over the years." But what did the parts add up to? Everything before had been security upgrades, stealth compartments and the like. Actuators, tubing, mounts... maybe a small weapon of some sort?

"Jinx'd be somewhere secluded she could scrounge for parts without someone catching her, definitely away from the security droids. I don't know the temple well enough to know where that might be, though..." She looked at both Lrowoco and the other Jedi in the hopes they had some brilliant idea that wouldn't waste too much time or lead to a droid standoff with their Mandalorian security chief. If I have to search this place floor by floor I will...

    IC: Beskaryc Taab
Main hanger bay, Temple of Light, Saridona Prime

Taab regarded the group of bedraggled Jedi coming off the shuttle with more than just a bit of curiosity. They were covered in dust, and some had been injured. "Medical team to the main hanger," he called out over the commlink in his buy'ce (helmet). Knight Nosrep then approached him and in a serious tone informed the Mandalorian, "It is a certainty Al'Kesh stopped at Eventide before returning here. We encountered those same creatures while there. The council must be informed immediately." Taab nodded his understanding and sent out another comm signal, this time to the Jedi masters that made up the council. "Master Krahhn and his team have returned from Eventide, they have news for the Council." He left it at that, figuring the Jedi who had gone could deliver their report in person better than he could over a comm channel. He was about to ask the Ongree Jedi for more details though when he saw the hulking presence of Big X lumber down the ramp, carrying a knapsack of some sort in it's arms.

"What is that?" Taab demanded, though whether he was referring to the droid or the knapsack he didn't specify. Meanwhile a medical team arrived and took charge of Reese, Kraahn, Gim and Isabella leading them off towards the infirmary. "Come on, Big X, time to meet your new neighbors. You got the thing? I feel better with you carrying it than any of us; can't imagine it would affect a droid like it does us. You don't hear it... whispering to you... do you?" The droid, apparently named Big X swiveled it's head towards Knight Bonaventure and answered. "I do have it, and no it does not speak with me." Taab regarded the droid again, it was obviously some variant of a war droid, though the type was one Taab didn't recognize. Taab disliked droids, though at time he found them useful. He did have a number of old YVH droids at his disposal for Temple security, though thankfully they had not yet been needed. If this were another war droid, it could have it's uses... The Jedi for their part seemed to be more concerned with what the droid was carrying than with the droid itself. "And what is that?" This time he pointed to the knapsack the Jedi seemed so concerned with.

Having moved through the stunned and cheering crowd as quickly as possible without revealing his special talents, Master Rand finally arrived in the dilapidated hanger that Erso had crashed into only to find him apparently dead in a pool of his own blood and Knight Avarray in a guard position, taking cover. "Did you happen to see where that shot came from?" he asked. Master Rand now brought his own lightsaber to hand, though he too left it unignited. "I sense nothing," he added. If neither of these two had seen a shot, and they sensed nothing, then finding the apparent assassin would be an exercise in futility. Just then Rand's comm link went off.

"This is Troi," the voice said, clearly out of breath. "Someone fled from the hanger, I thought it might be Erso so I pursued, but whoever it is, he's gone." The man sounded more than out of breath now, he sounded downright embarrassed. "Please tell me it wasn't Erso and that you have him." Rand looked to the dead body of Erso and then to his two Jedi compatriots. "Well, it wasn't Erso." he paused in thought for a moment. It was clear the threat here was at an end, they needed to decide what to do next. "Head back to the Blue Moon Cantina, we'll meet you back there soon." He deactivated the link and placed it back on his belt. In the distance the alarms of crash vehicles and local law enforcement could be heard approaching. "Well let's see what we can find out before the authorities arrive."

Temple Security Office, temple of Light, Saridona Prime

"There were some parts in my quarters that I think Jinx scrounged up while I was gone. Looked like an upgrade, I've given her a few over the years." Lrowoco rubbed a massive paw over his furred head at Knight Iotasi's revelation. It didn't tell them much. "Jinx'd be somewhere secluded she could scrounge for parts without someone catching her, definitely away from the security droids. I don't know the temple well enough to know where that might be, though..."

"Astromech would go unnoticed in the hanger decks grabbing spare parts, it what they're there for." The Wookiee finally barked. "Could be Jinx is hiding in plain sight?" He shrugged his broad shoulders as he tried to call up security holo footage from the hanger bays, but the holo-projector stayed dark. Lrowoco howled in frustration, a frightening sound for one not accustomed to it and smacked at the projector with an open hand. "You can tell a mando fixed it because it only works if you hit it!" He roared, though not too loud in case Taab was around to hear. That seemed to do the trick as the projector warmed up and went active, projecting an image of the main hanger deck...or at least it looked like the hanger deck, but something was off about it...

Lrowoco leaned in closer, it was the Temple of Light's main hanger bay, but it looked different. Newer, shinier, and the equipment was all out of sorts and in the wrong place. Even the craft in the background were all wrong. T-65 X-Wings, and several old Eta-2s along with a well worn YT-1300 Corellian freighter in the foreground. "Huh?" Lrowoco barked before looking at the time stamp.

This recording was from over a century ago. Somehow when he had smacked the projector it must have reset the system to old memory data. "Sorry," he announced as he tried to reset the system to the time frame they were looking for, but he stopped. There were Jedi at the bottom of the boarding ramp of the freighter in the recording. No one he recognized, but clearly Jedi by their robes and the lightsabers hanging from their belts. They were conferring with someone farther up the ramp, someone unseen still aboard the ship who finally trudged down it enough to come into view.

It was a Mandalorian, shorter and stockier than Taab, and wearing gunmetal grey armor in the old style, the style of the late Republic and Imperial age. He conferred with the Jedi again, but there was no sound. The audio files appeared to have been corrupted with age. One of the Jedi shrugged, and then looked to the others before they all followed the Mandalorian up the ramp which closed behind them. The footage cut off as the ship began to lift off but Lrowoco sat there, still for a moment, mesmerized by what he had just seen, the search for Jinx all but forgotten by the Wookiee.

"What was that all about?" he wondered aloud, looking to the two Jedi that had watched the bizarre scene with him.

Master Hector Zey and Knight Acyk had just entered the dining hall when the old Jedi master sensed the impression of someone who was...troubled. Excusing himself from the newly arrived twi'lek Knight who sauntered over to the counter, Zey found the source of the angst and sat down across form her. "Master Zey-" Cora began, he could sense her unease even more so now. "I was wondering if I could speak to you about something." Zey regarded her, the woman was normally brimming with confidence, but that confidence seemed to have been shaken after her recent trip to Mandalore.

Something that should have made her even stronger had instead turned around and was undermining her. What it was the old Jedi could not know. Unless of course he spoke with her. "Of course Cora, what is on your..." he was interrupted as his comm link came to life. "Master Krahhn and his team have returned from Eventide, they have news for the Council." It was Commander Taab's voice, and Zey's heart leaped in anticipation. They had found something! He looked back to Cora, ready to excuse himself but something about her demeanor forced him to take pause. She needed help now, and with rand away still on assignment, the Council was missing one member already, they could afford to wait for a short time.

"Tell me what's troubling you Knight Cora, and we'll see if we can work it out together."

Cookie continued his meal prep watching carefully the Jedi who had entered his domain. Master Zey and Knight Cora were non issues, they were known quantities and generally respectful. The newcomer who had come in with Master Zey was an unknown variable of course, but the twi'lek was well dressed and comported himself in a respectful manner. The padawans, though along with the new woman were trouble, with a capital Trill and Cookie knew it.

"I hope it is not too much of a bother, but would I be able to order a sandwich?" The twi'lek said at the counter a moment after grabbing a piece of fruit for himself. Clearly the rules would have to be explained to this one. "Dining hours for supper are between 1600 and 2100 hours" the droid said irritably. "You are several hours too early for that." The droid left in a huff, stirring a brown sauce mix in a bowl as it headed towards the table where padawan Elle and the others sat. One of them had motioned to Cookie and though the droid knew something of what was coming it felt compelled by it's programming to obey.

"We want omelettes Cookie," said padawan Elle. "You can do that for us right?" She blinked her eyes innocently, well aware that there was no way the droid would honor her request, but she never intended it to. The droid began swiveling it's head from side to side to say no when Elle gave a subtle push with the force and sloshed some of the gravy the droid was stirring out of the bowl and all over the droid itself, and on apprentice Vanora's left montral. "oops," she said with a smirk to the droid, "I think you spilled some."

Of course no one has to tell me anything. But I need closure, it wasn't like I could ask questions when I was a younging. Hardly anyone spoke Mando'a.

"I'll understand if that has to be kept secret, but I just thought-" Cora let out an uneasy breath. "-I just thought that it might help me understand my heritage, and my family better."

Turning around, he saw that the serving droid had been covered from head to foot in gravy. Grabbing some paper towels from the counter, the Twi'lek approached Cookie and did his best to try and get as much gravy off the droid as possible.

He remembered when a group of young, upstart Probationary Police Officers had done the same exact thing to the faithful serving droid of the 66th Precinct, where he had spent all of his service. Unluckily for them, the Assistant Chief of the NCPD was there for a visit, and saw their prank. He dressed them down in the cafeteria and from what Kassokay heard, they were sent back to the academy and reassigned.

"I sense nothing," Master Rand said coming out his saber in his hand but, unlit. Rak reached out with his senses himself. He felt the same, the deadly intent was gone, the murder was not in range hidden among the beings moving around the space.

"This is Troi," the mandalorian Jedi sounded from Rand's comlink, "Someone fled from the hanger, I thought it might be Erso so I pursued, but whoever it is, he's gone." He looked at the body between the three Jedi his face souring just a little. "Please tell me it wasn't Erso and that you have him." Rak looked to Rand then back to the cooling body.

"Well, it wasn't Erso." Rand explained, "Head back to the Blue Moon Cantina, we'll meet you back there soon." It seemed the danger had passed now was just trying to figure out what just happened. Off in the distance sirens blared, the authorities were coming closer. Time was running short for any investigation. "Well let's see what we can find out before the authorities arrive."

Rak stowed his sabers away quickly casing the the scene. There wasn't much that could be found, other than the bullet. The instrument of death. He swept over the area recalling the trajectory of the shot. He found it quickly enough embedded into the durcrete floor. It was heavily deformed looking nothing like the object that killed a man. The front of it was flattened, mushroomed out making it more difficult to remove. Gently and carefully he pulled on the bullet using the Force, feather light touches wiggling the object back and forth as he dislodged it from its place.

It didn't look like anything special, just a chunk of metal that was accelerated to high velocity and took the back half of a man's head off. As he looked it, brought it closer he felt a slight tug. Nothing big just an attraction between the bullet...and his necklace.

A slight hum left him, the bullet was magnetized, meaning it came in contact with a strong magnetic field. He only had a moment or two to think about it before the sirens came even closer. There wasn't any more time to think.

"So, Blue Moon then to Vagabond then home." he offered, "The pod is still in one piece, can be easily sold by Mr. Daheap. We didn't win but, we also didn't crash so our part of the deal is upheld." He looked to his other companions, his flesh stinging from his little emergency exit from the pod. "Shall we gentlemen?"

Medics whisked away most of our crew from the hangar bay to the infirmary. I was tempted to follow, make sure they were getting good care, and then I could get head over to the maintenance hangar to scrounge the stuff I needed. But no, that was what a typical NCO would do, and those days were over. I was a knight now, and expected to do the duties that came with the title. Officer stuff. Which at the moment seemed to mean reporting to the Council in their office. Is that why they're called officers, because they spend all their time in offices, piloting desks?

"Semajj, I guess it's up to us to report to the Council. I'd say we should bring along Big X and the souvenir so the Masters can see for themselves before they decide what to do with them. Is that all right with you, Commander Taab? I don't believe Big X is a security threat to the Council, but if he is I'm prepared to act."

I double-checked that I still had my weapons on my belt, as well as my datapad. My mission report was on it, and if the debrief dragged on and got dull, I could always use it to work on my new project design. At least, until the Masters noticed I wasn't paying attention, and my time as a Padawan had taught me that Jedi Masters are a lot harder to fool than typical school teachers.

Morning time the cleaning droids were finishing up their 'wipe down' of the general facilities. Noontime to sun-down was when the mess hall was most occupied. Knights and their padawan would come and go based on whatever schedule the Master had set in place. Groups of younglings moved in packs like wild Tauntaun, led by their instructor of the day. Bivi took it all in as she entered the dining hall and still found herself in a grey area between youngling and padawan-hood after her very first mission under Master Vansyph. Trying not to lose herself in the moment, she quickly glanced back and forth at the exits, a habit she was still forming after the traumatizing hangar event just weeks before. As her gaze bounced around she noticed two padawan she didn't recognize interacting with the server droid. Her instructions from Master Vansyph were to wait in the mess hall until he arrived. Since it wasn't the ideal place for meditation, Bivi figured it would be a good time to socialize as she walked over to the serving area.

"Well! I believe this droid is due for a mechanical check, don't you think?"

Bivi glanced at the gravy soaked droid as she walked up behind the two padawan, "Should I fetch the maintenance chief to get this droid back into shape?" Bivi inserted herself into the situation with a desire to help, but mostly to break the ice.

"Uh... It's a long story." Nosrep said with a shrug, making his strange Ongree features look even stranger. "The droid want's to join our staff. Want's to 'improve himself and his programing'. Big X has agreed to submit to a data scan to ensure his intentions are pure." Taab raised an eyebrow behind his T-Visor at that. A detailed scan of the droid's programming would not just ensure it's loyalty to the mission, but also tell Taab what sort of asset it would be to either the security or logistics team. Looking at the arm mounted particle canon on the droid Taab already had some ideas of where he could use the droid.

The Ongree returned his gaze to Taab. "The purse," Taab smirked and he was sure the Jedi could sense his amusement, at least for the moment until Nosrep finished his statement, "he is caring holds a Sith holocron." Now Taab's eyes widened in shock. Why had they brought back a Sith holocron?

Raising one of his eye stalks to punctuate the severity of it, the Ongree nodded grimly. "It seems to have an enchanting power over those near it. Kraahn, Isabella, and Gim all briefly fell under its spell. It may even be able to reach out to Non-Force sensitives..." Taab looked at the purse and the droid holding it again. If that were the case why hadn't it been immediately destroyed, and why bring it here where it could cause more damage. Taab's right hand twitched near his holstered blaster pistol. Was this the beginning of an invasion of the Temple? Had these Jedi too succumbed to the power of this holocron and even now were attempting to spread it's influence? If so, he and his security staff might be the only ones able to save the Jedi from themselves.

"As long as it is covered it seems there is no risk. But better safe than sorry." Taab regarded the Jedi, he was not a known liar, though every Jedi was more than capable of holding their own perspective on things, their own "point of view." Still, he got the sense that he was indeed telling the truth. Why tell Taab as much as he had if the goal was to bring a harmful object into their midst? His hand relaxed somewhat, and Taab wondered if either Jedi knew how close his blaster had come to being drawn.

"Semajj, I guess it's up to us to report to the Council. I'd say we should bring along Big X and the souvenir so the Masters can see for themselves before they decide what to do with them. Is that all right with you, Commander Taab?" Taab nodded his assent to Sarge's suggestion and spoke quietly, "As you wish" though the Jedi kept talking. "I don't believe Big X is a security threat to the Council, but if he is I'm prepared to act." Taab considered that for a moment. "I'll go with you," he looked to the droid. "So we can conduct your programming scan once the masters have decreed a course of action."

Master Rand watched patiently as Knight Avarray poked about in the duracrete flooring, digging for something, all while hearing the approaching sirens come closer and closer. Being detained by the local authorities would be rather inconvenient, but if the Jedi Knight thought there was valuable evidence to be found, best he be allowed to do so. Finally he found what he'd been looking for, "So, Blue Moon then to Vagabond then home." he offered. "The pod is still in one piece, can be easily sold by Mr. Daheap. We didn't win but, we also didn't crash so our part of the deal is upheld." Master Rand smiled and nodded at that, they could leave the pod here. He was sure Daheap would be by soon to claim his property, in the meantime they cold more easily evade the authorities inconspicuously on foot. "Shall we gentlemen?" Rand nodded again and followed the pair out of the hanger and in the direction of the BMC...

20 minutes later, the Blue Moon Cantina, Port Pixelito, Malastare

Master Rand and the other two had traveled the street of Port Pixelito mostly in silence. It did them no good to speculate on what had happened to poor Chif Erso, or who his mysterious benefactor was. Knight Avarray had found some evidence, but it would be examined back at the Temple. For now, they would meet back up with everyone at the cantina and then head back to the spaceport and their ship before heading back to Saridona Prime.

Entering the crowded cantina, Rand was immediately accosted by a boisterous crowd, still raucous after witnessing an amazing pod race on the holoscreens above the bar. He hoped neither Avarray or Sodi was recognized, but if they were, it wouldn't matter. As soon as they rendezvoused with their comrades they would be leaving. Finding those comrades might have been an issue in the now crowded cantina, but fortunately they were easily discernible through the force and Rand found the trio occupying a back corner table under a small auxiliary holoscreen. It seemed to be the only holo not tuned to post race news and was instead tuned tn HNN, the Holonet News Network.

"So, we're all here." Rand stated, looking to the other Jedi with a smile. Their mission had not been a success in that it hadn't really discovered what had happened to Knight Al'kesh, but they had discovered another mystery that perhaps pertained to the Jedi's situation, and that would have to be reported to the council. "Shall we..." he began, but noted quickly that Knight Troi's attention was on the small holo-screen located above and behind their table.

"Riots broke out across the Mandalorian sector today," the well coiffed human male on the news was saying in a serious tone, "as news of the sudden and unexpected death of mand'alor Hondo Karr was announced by clan leaders on Mandalore earlier today." Rand glanced at Troi, sensing the roiling emotions coming from him. "No word on a successor has yet been announced but Triumvirate officials are hopeful that Karr will be replaced with a leader as friendly to Galactic policies as Karr had been." Rand nodded at the assessment. Mand'alor Karr had indeed been a stalwart supporter of many Triumvirate initiatives, even as he maintained Mandalore's own neutrality. There was no telling what positions a new leader of Mandalore might take regarding the rest of the galaxy. "As you all know Mand'alor Karr replaced the previous leader, Yaga..."

"Off." Troi's voice was full of anger as the holo was deactivated. He was full of frustration and yes even a tinge of fear from what Rand could tell, and he was a member of the Guardians of Light, able to control himself better than your average Mandalorian. If normal everyday Mandalorians across the galaxy were feeling anything like this at the moment, the situation could get ugly. Those weren't immediate concerns for master Rand though, getting back to the Temple with the evidence they had gathered was.

"Are you OK Troi?" Rand placed a comforting hand on the Mandalorian Jedi's shoulder. Troi brushed it aside and gave a simple nod of his head, not willing to trust his own voice right now to answer verbally. "All right then, let's get back to the Vagabond and from there home." He began to lead them towards the door as Troi gave a forlorn look at the darkened holoscreen and muttered under his breath, "Yeah, home."

"What was that all about?" Lrowoco had wondered aloud, looking to the two Jedi, but they seemed to have no answer. "File that mystery away for another day I suppose," the Wookiee barked with a shrug. "Now your droid," he tapped at a few more controls on the security panel. "Ah, here we go, a live feed from the main hanger." The image appeared hovering between Lrowoco and the Jedi.

Looked like Commander Taab in conversation with Knights Bonaventure and Nosrep. There was a large war droid of some type with them as well. In the background the shuttle the Eventide team had just returned with was being worked on by a number of Logistics personnel, including droids, but none seemed to be Jinx. "I doubt even your droid would be so bold as to try something right under the Commander's nose." Lrowoco said with a chuckle. The Mandalorian was apt to blast first and ask questions later. "Let's check on one of the secondary bays." A few more taps at the panel brought up holo images labeled "live feed" from hanger bay two.

The bay seemed mostly empty, a few technicians were on duty, but none of the craft were being actively worked on. That made sense, the personal shuttles, fighters and other craft of the various Jedi and other Guardians were kept in bay two. Knight Sodi's venerable old U-Wing was in the background, along with the Queen's Dagger, Master Decinchi's even older Eta-2 and Knight Avarray's Helot class transport, the Vagabond. Knight Bonaventure's Blue Moon dominated the left side of the image, while Taab's garishly painted black and red J-1, the Unnecessary Force, was to the right.

"Nothing out of the ordinary there," Lrowoco began to say when something odd did happen. The boarding ramp to the Unnecessary Force lowered and off it stepped the unmistakable form of Commander Taab! Lrowoco roared in confusion, there was no way the Mandalorian could have gotten from talking to the Jedi in the main bay over to the secondary bay that fast! What was going on? He looked to the pair of Jedi now, wondering if they had any explanation.

    IC: Master Hector Zey (NPC)
    Temple of Light, Saridona Prime

"I was wondering if I could have more access to my files." Knight Cora told Master Zey hesitantly. The old Jedi Master raised an eyebrow at the request. It wasn't something forbidden, but it wasn't exactly encouraged either. This wasn't the Jedi of old, where attachment was forbidden. Guardians of Light had families of their own that they raised. Husbands and wives. Still, she would need a good reason in his estimation if the Council would give such access their blessing. "I was hoping they would tell me who brought me to the temple, and if my mother said anything when she gave me up."

Zey rubbed his chin at that, old calloused hands across a stubbly beard. Her mission back home had indeed shaken this Jedi to her core. If access to her records could help her regain her confidence, herself, then it might well be worth the slight breach in protocol. "I'll understand if that has to be kept secret, but I just thought-" she let out an uneasy breath. "-I just thought that it might help me understand my heritage, and my family better."

Zey regarded her, his visage softening to try to emote his understanding of what she was going through. "We are your family now Cora," he left off the honorific to emphasis that he was speaking to her as a person, a sister or even a daughter, rather than merely as a Jedi. "We are always here for you," he smiled warmly. "Remember that as you peruse those old files. Hopefully something there will give you closure, but if there is anything that you need to discuss, your family is right here and we're always willing to talk."

    IC: Padawan Elle/COO-33K "Cookie" (NPCs)
Dining Facility, Temple of Light, Saridona Prime

Padawan Elle could barely control her laughter as the gravy dripped off of the droid's face, totally obscuring one photo receptor. "Well! I believe this droid is due for a mechanical check, don't you think?" Vanora asked the table at large, with a conspiratorial wink. Now Elle did burst out into a mostly silent laugh, not only at the Togruta's suggestion, but the gravy that was making it's way down her montral as well. At least she could take a joke it seemed, but it made it all the funnier to Elle.

A twi'lek appeared, someone that Elle didn't know, but he gave off an aura of all business. Must be one of Commander Taab's security stooges. Elle thought to herself as he began to wipe off Cookie with a swath of paper towels. Another twi'lek, padawan Ugem'bivi, also now approached behind the padawans and added to the joke. "Should I fetch the maintenance chief to get this droid back into shape?" Elle laughed again as apprentice Vanora looked back to 'Bivi.

"Looks like this place is always on the brink of mischief and roll with the flow fun!" The droid was toweled off by now and glared at her angrily. "I'm Vanora Cinali. I believe I started all this when I came in here looking for some food, which I never pass up if I can help it!" Taking the soiled paper towels from the serious looking twi'lek male, Cookie now berated them. "This is not a place for fun, it's a place for fueling your biological needs with nutrition so you can continue your day without going hungry." It began to wheel itself away even as Elle laughed even harder.

"You're all on notice, I'll be talking to your masters as soon as I get this gravy out of my servos..."
