Come play, we'll teach you and you'll love it!

Legends Of The Jedi features a rich Star Wars universe created by its players and dedicated immortal staff, and has been called by many the "definitive Star Wars interactive experience".

For over a decade, Legends Of The Jedi has told thousands upon thousand of stories of the people who inhabit the Star Wars galaxy, from vile Sith, daring Jedi, conniving smugglers, and ruthless bounty-hunters, the role you inhabit in the world is yours to create, shape, and grow. Want to be an engineer building top quality armor, weapons, and spaceships? You can. Want to be a diplomat who moonlights as a spy, selling valuable intel to mysterious strangers? You can. Want to be a vicious bounty-hunter brawling from cantina to cantina when not tracking down your prey? All these roles and hundreds more are available to you, you need only imagine, create, and then be your character!

Legends Of The Jedi varies from other text MUDs in that it has an ever evolving over-arching storyline that is split into eras, and also timelines. Every year and half or so, the game is completely reset, giving players a chance to compare notes, share stories, and prepare for the next version of the galaxy, which will have a whole new conflict shaped by the players once more.

One prominent feature of Legends Of The Jedi is the permanent death system. All characters are mortal, and subject to death by combat with other players, the dangers of space, vicious alien creatures, and warfare in space (dogfighting and ship combat). Once killed, characters are gone forever, and are only returned to the game if killed in error by other players, without strong roleplay reasons.

Roleplay is enforced at every level, especially murder of another character. Extensive interaction logs, and "think logs" (logs of your characters thoughts that you create as you move through different scenes and scenarios) must be presented to justify a challenged kill.

The tension that is created by what the players around you do, versus what you're capable of, and your characters motivations and desires can be a thrilling experience with no other like it in all of Star Wars gaming.

Legends Of The Jedi features a friendly and helpful immortal staff, including a small retinue of player volunteers known as the Role Play Council that are eager to get new players into the action, and help them present a strong characterization to the game world.
