    Nice dress.
I think it looks like a suead fabric.
if I make one of these, I'll use suead.

I'm having problems getting my digital camera to cooperate with me, but someone at the RPF posted some pictures (you can see them here) and we've got some up in the SWS event archives. So those will have to do for now.

Jauzhmynn, I used a doe suede for mine. Very light and comfortable and just slightly furry/fuzzy.

I made this for the Dragon Con as a last minute project (not really last minute since i started a month before)

If you have any patterns on hand with a princess seam you could probably just use that instead of buying a new pattern. But i used Simplicity 5189 since i hate zippers.

I modified it so the side front and back was one peice and when i cut out the pattern i cut the dess peices about an inch below where the waist line is marked.

As for the bottom of the dress i made an under skirt with simplicity 4881 veiw A added a extra panel for more fullyness and stitched all side seam except one and used the notch as a guide to where to stop.

As for the over skirt that's attached to the top i cut strips that were the length of my waist to kne length, gave it a very jagged edge, then place the skirt pattern on it and sewed for pannels together and then gathered it to the top.

not an exact science but that's how i made it more or less

Has anyone ever tried McCall's 4654? I am trying to make this dress tonight to wear to the SW DVD release party tomorrow night. I also couldn't tell what kind of fabric to use, and since Ihave limited funds I decided to go with Burlap lol, for a nice organic look and feel.

I want to make this dress for a doll, but I'm having trouble finding good pics. I went back through this entire thread, but many of the links aren't working. Does anyone have pictures of the action figure?

    Ame,

If you are a member of hyperspace, they just posted an image of her with a few Ewoks in the images section. It's titled "Hanging with the Ewoks". It's a view of the dress I have never seen before (as in, I didn't realize the slit up the side was that long!!)

Thanks for the action figure link! That's really very helpful.

No, I am not a Hyperspace member, but the pic you are describing sounds familiar. Is it this one by any chance? (I remember thinking the slit was remarkably high, also.)
